Are you in Australia or somewhere eastern like that? Because I think the Steam store takes the date line into account with release dates.

Edit: Oh wait, can't be Australia with that price. Hmm.

I checked the game's steam page earlier today, and can confirm that just recently (in the past couple hours) the unlock date got pushed back about 12 hours.

Yeah, that's weird. It was set to release at 10AM PST tomorrow for a while, then suddenly delayed. What's up with that?

Mind you australia would normally get it earlier not later. This is a global delay, and points to jan 24th 12AM Pacific time. it's essentially an extra day. Damn you all.

That is lame is this because the psn and wii U where late to the shop so push it back because they needed a head start.

Shame about the delay, I was pretty stoked about getting to play it today! Oh well.

Mine says the release is the 23rd, but the time approximate time shows 24th. Any confirmation on this yet? Haven't seen a post around.

Any official word on what's going on with the Steam release time?

This has been a tad upsetting. I specifically got the Steam version (for several reasons) with the hopes that I could play the game on January 23rd, the last day of my weekend before I work 7 days in a row (starting bright and early on the 24th). It's a bummer to not be able to play on the 23rd after all.

I also can't get my money back to re-invest in the PS3 / Xbox 360 version, which is too bad (though in the long run I'll be glad I got it for PC, as I try to get any multi-platform game I possibly can in glorious PC-edition form - simply because the graphics my beloved Compwnter generates surpass the 360 and PS3 by so much).

I'm sure this delay is actually due to some mix-up on Valve/Steam's end, not due to Double Fine. That said, it still sort of sucks.

One note: on Steam, I see a message still saying the game will be released January 23, 2013 - but below that there's a message saying I must wait 23 hours. But if I wait 23 hours, it wouldn't be the 23rd anymore - so which countdown is wrong? (I am on PST time, for what it's worth).

Ron said on his Twitter that the PSN and WiiU versions for EU had been delayed for some reasons only Nintendo and Sony know. I guess there is an agreement with them that the Steam-version has to be released after their versions.

That is some wild speculation right there. The PSN and WiiU EU stores, are spereate venues, and are notorious for being late with releases, I doubt it has anything to do with it.

Amazon has it available right now. That is frustrating as I already pre-ordered it on steam.

It says "Steam DRM" on the top of that page, so I think you'll still get a steam code from Amazon. I pre-ordered the game at Greenman Gaming and received my activation key this morning. Still need to wait for it to unlock on Steam, unfortunately.

Bah! So psyched for this after reading the reviews and the praise for the characters sections. Want to play the time traveler section now. Not later, but now.

Certainly not groovey but sometimes these things just happen.

Being released on the 24th will make it feel less cool but also more like christmas. Matches with all the snow outside. :o)

Even though I knew I wouldn't be able to play the game before February, this is kind of a letdown. The Steam Page should tell me that it won't be available until tomorrow, instead of me checking forums to realize I'm not alone with the issue.
