  1. I supposed we could have an item in Hat Fortress 2, America's most popular hat wearing simulator, but I don't think it would really be needed, and could devalue the game with people thinking "hey look, they are just doing cheap marketing gimmiks".
  2. Portsmouth, UK here. Interesting that at least among the people who have cast votes here, that the EU has more backers than US/CAN. I wonder if that carries over to the backers as a whole?
  3. Adam Hayter (ajhayter), proud to take part! 43 chars
  4. DVD is more compatible with the stuff I have, but BluRay is more shiny! And hell, as soon as I get it both are going to be ripped to my NAS so I might as well get the HD Disk.
  5. I missed playing adventure games growing up and was introduced to Monkey Island a few years back. Since then I’ve grabbed Psychonauts among others and gained a real appreciation for the genre. Yet to play Grim Fandango but it's on my list. I’m glad to help this kind of project. It symbolises not only the return of a great genre, but a change in the industry by removing publishers entirely.
  6. I'd really like to see something Steampunk. You don't see much of that. A Girl Genius (web comic) or late Victorian (post-industrial revolution) vibe could be very interesting. Combine that with the Double Fine magic and they could take it to some very interesting places.
  7. Well maybe not officially, but you can include a reference under fair use I would imagine. Unless they wholly rip characters and scenes I can't see it causing an issue.
  8. +1 on the Deus Ex solution. Akin to Mass Effect. It doesn't necessarily need to be very deep, but some conversation options, especially in the larger interactions with major characters would certainly be nice.
  9. Oh come on, put some effort in! Wheres the specular mapping and the bump mapping? Give the pixel some sould, make me want to connect to it on an intimate level!
  10. I'd be very surprised if Tim and Co doesn't put some back references in the game. This is a game by the fans for the fans. At the very least I want to see a three headed monkey at some point

  12. Rather than focusing on multiple scenarios and different ways to solve problems, think about what grabs you to a good book or movie that you read/watch over and over. It's not changing when you veiw it a second time, but the story is very well crafted and the characters are engaging enough that you really want to re-visit that world. I replay Monkey Island quite often because it's simply funny and fun to play, although it plays out much the same however you play it.
  13. Opensourcing would certainly be a nice gesture, but I'm not certain that it would be practical in a project of this cope. They might surprise us though. It would really depend on how the project develops and the interest.
