      These Forums are closing!   10/04/2019

After more than a decade of serving this community well, these forums have finally run their course and it's time to close them down. That doesn't mean we want to close the doors on our community, quite the opposite!
Our discord server grows ever busier by the day, and we encourage all Double Fine fans to meet us over there www.discord.gg/doublefine In a short time these forums will become a read only archive and will remain that way until they become needed again.
You never know, it might happen.  There is... a prophecy. Thank you all for being part of these forums, and remember that the fun is definitely not over - so please join us on Discord! Love ya, Spaff, Tim, Info Cow, and all of Double Fine.

  1. How do I download the game?

Here are the relevant parts of the kickstarter post: I hope you'll be able to quickly get access to the game!
  2. I voted "mostly yes" because of the puzzles that were just a bit too easy, as has already been said. But I absolutely loved the art and story, just hoping for quite a steep increase in difficulty in part 2.
  3. Daedalic: some great games, I agree, especially the Deponia series. But with regards to the budget: that's comparing apples and oranges, they're using a lot of interns, just search on Google for "Daedalic Praktikum" or look on their "jobs", eh, internship page, http://www.daedalic.de/de/Jobs
  4. game starts in window mode

I can confirm on Windows 7, 64 bit, 1024*768 (yeah, I know, old monitor will be replaced soon )
  5. DFA key / download?

Try submitting your mail adress via https://www.humblebundle.com/store/keyresender
  6. Did you try https://www.humblebundle.com/store/keyresender ?
  7. I'm not a slacker backer and got the link to the humble bundle page by submitting my mail adress via https://www.humblebundle.com/store/keyresender , did you already try that?
  8. Hi, the Paypal-pledge option via http://stasiscommunity.com/pledge/ is still open, so that new backers like yourself can still join from what I can tell. According to the latest KS-update, http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bischoff/stasis-2d-isometric-scifi-horror-adventure-game/posts/692570 , this Paypal-option will be available for a limited time, to lock down the number of physical rewards "in the near future", whenever that might be. I don't know if you could still pledge later only for digital reward tiers, who knows, but at the moment all the reward levels up to "classic edition", the physical box, are still open.
  9. Hot Keys

On my German keyboard layout, which also does have < and > on the same key, pressing "," or "." works. These are on the same keys as "<" and ">" on a US keyboard layout so that the correct keyboard code is triggered in the game. I used http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:KB_United_States-NoAltGr.svg to figure this out. As you posted, ] and [ are correctly remapped to their Alt Gr+9 and 8 bindings, "<" and ">" are not, hence using "," and "." I'm very grateful for this shortcut as I was going nuts trying to keep up with the status of a 20+ crew before I read this thread today, the shortcut helps immensely ...
  10. Spacebase Prototype Feedback

Hi, I've found one "deadly derelict", everybody except one character was already dead when I found it (and one engineer was murdered when I started expanding the derelict to the west before I caught on to what was going on ...) Now the "deadly derelict" is confined again and completely "de-zoned ...
  11. Hi, a book that has helped me a lot in learning more about design patterns and using them in Java programs is "Head First Design Patterns". It is very well written in a casual style and contains examples using design patterns in Java. I'd still recommend the book as a general introduction to design patterns in other programming languages but especially if you program in Java.
