@osse101 I like this idea, I might try it out for myself.
  2. Made a gif of some of the things we have currently.

    Thanks @kednar, lookin good.
  5. Yeah, you might be right.
  6. @KGuNN @kyle3wynn well, it might be a little more insteresting with working flippers.

We could also tilt the characters so they're not exactly following the "rules" of the perspective. Just a thought.

That's cool, I like the idea of invoking the feel of the classics.
  9. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4DlVPd_1DaURkhCTlBWSFFCM3M/view Updated menu from @possiblyanidiot, loading @KGuNN's table and assets. Updated networking code from bobsayshilol and @jctwood My todo list currently: Fix paddles placement for kgunns table Controllable flippers Play the music + sfx we have currently

@kyle3wynn sure, I mean it's still very WIP. You would need rendered stems for that, I assume, anything else?

    Music

Feel free to post your music in here! Here's something I'm tinkering with, might be a bit too dark in style. https://soundcloud.com/lightsoda/a-pong-of-balls Also, the pitch music, which I guess you've all heard by now: https://soundcloud.com/lightsoda/pongballpitchmusic-extended Also thanks to @kyle3wynn for his cool space music which is up in the repo

Alright, tried making something with a bunch of pinball elements, I guess the layout is based on @KGuNN's concept. Overall I would like more just reactive stuff on the board itself. I've completely omitted the player zones in this so pay no attention to that... I also made a quick sketch for what I would imagine character movement to be like if we went with actual characters, but I wouldn't mind something more abstract like @kednar concept.

That's a really nice concept for a table. I feel like getting a good table design in place should be the first step, since it's a big part of how the game works, so we can get core gameplay in place. I will try and come up with some additional concepts during the day. But if we don't come up with anything that's much better, I might take a stab at putting your concept in the game, @KGuNN
  14. Hello everyone, my name is Kjell, I live in Sweden. I usually spend my days implementing user interfaces for desktop and web applications. Music, programming and 2D/3D graphics (how vague) are probably my main hobbies, and game development is something that lets me do some or all of those things. I participate in Ludum Dare somewhat regularly.
  15. @KestrelPi No worries, your input is still welcome.
  16. @Cxsquared We don't want to give anyone a "lesser" experience by requiring to gather friends to play it, so we want to go with networked play from day one.
  17. We are currently working out some things before we kick it off with the community. For those who want them, here's some (wet'ish) stems from the song: http://keewee.se/pitch_stems.zip
  18. Probably IRC or Discord, we used IRC for Bad Golf. @Nes
  19. @Reid_Harris_Cooper I hadn't really considered it the "theme", I just wanted to throw out an extended version of the music from the pitch video. But sure I can get some stems out there.
  20. Also thanks for voting. I suppose the voting period is over now.
  21. @KestrelPi Just like there might be different types of arenas in terms of style, there could be different types of music. Or even have it be interactive in some way, but that might be too ambitious. @KGuNN I could see that working, we could also have "launchers" placed on the playing field. Serving would probably be good when the ball goes out on your side.
  22. @EMarley A tron-esque style would look cool! We might go with different art styles if there's multiple tables.
  23. @Nes Rotate, maybe, we'll see what direction the final concept takes! @VideoGameScrapBook I'm leaning heavily towards Unity at the moment, Godot also seems like a good alternative. Like Cheese said, it has to be somewhat cross platform. @elneilios The problem with 3D vs. 2D (in my experience), is that 3D physics are harder to wrangle to what you want, but we'll see, I'm totally open to 3D. @cachemonet Hey what's up! Yeah, we definitely have some decisions to make regarding networking.
  24. @Nes You'd control one character/paddle, mapped to left analog stick I presume, up is up, down is down et.c. I hadn't considered tank controls.
