  1. One of the few things that used to bug me about the oldschool adventures was the fact that that hotspot areas looked artificially added after the the scene was created, completely out of place with the whole scene. So you knew immediately as you entered an area that the spade which doesn't look right was something you need to pick up. Each to their own I guess but i hope they don't change it.
  2. So to get the edge buffer are you convolving some kind of image derivative kernel over the normal buffer like the Sobel operator? I don't think I've ever read an sentence in English where I have understood less words
  3. These look fantastic, all the graphics are looking much more complete than I expected for a prototype.
  4. I'm sure if all five showed huge potential and were able to secure funding they would find a way to develop all five. Maybe not likely, but certainly possible (I'd buy all five day one if that helps?!) EDIT: Just wanted to add, as this a 2PP video thread, the work you guys are doing to get these out, to this quality, so quickly is nothing short of amazing. Keep up the great work!
  5. Chris has there been any discussion about whether Kickstarter could be used again if the prototypes are successful enough? I kind of hope not, at least not unless they've exhausted their other options first. Kickstarter isn't good for consumers. It's a kindness fans do for developers in good faith every now and then for projects that need it, but it shouldn't be the default way games get made. Hopefully DFA does well enough that they can finance a couple more games independently, since they get to keep the profits for that one. I'd like to see Double Fine continue to circumvent publishers, but I don't want to buy every game before it exists in order for that to happen. That's certainly a fair point and one I don't entirely disagree with, I just just wondered what the feelings at DF are about the idea.

  7. As will quoting vertical art! I do think it looks awesome though so it's ok.
  8. To get a publisher involved now would severely damage the credibility of the crowdsourcing model IMO. REDS is representing the whole of kickstarter in many peoples eyes.
  9. One thing I can say is.. TAKE MORE OF MY MONEY! Who's with me? (is this possible?) Another fantastic episode though, not only am I enjoying seeing the process but its also acting as the best hype-inducing marketing material I have ever seen, I could not be looking forward to something more.
  10. well i doubt that a person that cant read can find it, even if it is in the same thread the said person is asking this question. Interesting..... (if you didnt get it, go to the !first! page of the !two! pages of this thread. its not as difficult as it looks.) Yeah I got it, thanks for posting.

  12. Great stuff - I'm interested to know you have time runtime constraints at all on this project, though?
