  1. Today's update fixed the sound without the need of LD_LIBRARY_PAYH for me
  2. Same for me. DLC and achievements work without the LD_LIBRARY_PAYH, but then again no audio. For me the location of the saves was ~/Steam/SteamApps/common/CostumeQuest2/. It seems to depend on where Steam is installed, in case someone else is -like me - wondering why he doesn't have the .local/share/Steam folder ;-)
  3. Great, thanks for the quick response. I had tried starting it outside of Steam and with LD_LIBRARY_PATH before to test with and without the system's SDL, but that had no effect either. But I hadn't tried it since I installed pulseaudio, so I tried it again. This did the trick -> pulseaudio with LD_LIBRARY_PATH does work for me. Thanks for your suggestions
  4. Has anyone else been experiencing missing sound in the linux version (steam). I use Gentoo instead of the supported Ubuntu, so that might be the cause of the problem. Perhaps something is missing on my system. But I never had any problems with sound in any game before, the sound in CQ1 always worked without a problem. I tried with the bundled SDL as well as my system's SDL. I also installed pulseaudio because Ubuntu uses this by default, but that didn't help either. The stdout of the game doesn't give much helpful information, just some locking issues, I don't know if this is related or normal noise (usually I wouldn't expect a failing trylock to be an ERROR, but one never knows): ERROR: pthread_mutex_trylock() failed ERROR: pthread_mutex_trylock() failed [...] ERROR: pthread_mutex_trylock() failed ERROR: Passed a NULL mutex ERROR: Passed a NULL mutex Any ideas what might be wrong? Or perhaps someone using Ubuntu with the same problem? Thanks
  5. When playing with the twins I got stuck at the mansion for some time and couldn't figure it out. After some time I consulted the internet, but this was no help, the twins kept resetting to the start of the puzzle when I used their special ability. After some more searching the internet it turned out that the key for the special ability on my xbox360-controller was mapped to the kill functionality too. But this happened only for the twins, I didn't have any problems with another character. At least I didn't notice and the twins where on my second or third playthrough. After remapping the keys everything was fine. I think the default mapping could be improved so that this bug doesn't happen anymore. I played the Linux-version from Steam. I searched the forums and found some other players with this problem (but on a Mac), but I think it might have been missed because there were several problems in these threads. http://www.doublefine.com/forums/viewthread/8547/#259390 http://www.doublefine.com/forums/viewthread/8427/P225/#285828 http://steamcommunity.com/app/221810/discussions/0/846944689797615970/#p1
