  1. Black Lake - Prototype Reactions

finally got to play this game prototype, and i have to say, it was a great experience. i enjoyed the real sense of danger and unknown the game had, as well as freedom of exploration. i felt like there was a lot of attention to detail, especially for a demo. when i started walking through the fox's dream, i was blown away. a truly mouth dropping moment. great job Levi and team.
  2. New art from Teamstream 3!

We're going to be developing the classes soon! Plus Derek is already starting to pull in more of the off-beat influences - I saw him working on a more Mongolian/Russian looking warrior on Friday and it's a lot cooler already! Awesome. I loved that vibe when you guys were sharing some of the things that were design influences. Will look forward to seeing more of that done in the game's art style.

demon design is really good. very creative. obviously, the soldiers look good too...but, they look generic. i guess the idea is the house colors give the flair, but i hope we get away from medieval on earth vibe and get to just some world where they do this stuff that makes up the game, whenever/wherever it is in the universe... so less typical medieval garb and even hair cuts.
  4. great episode. it wasn't so depressing. i was pumped when bagel stepped up and said what had obviously been on his mind. that was a big step in the "reality" stage, beyond the "cool ideas" stage. it's good to see other realizations and problem solving. in my limited experience with life, great things often come out of less than ideal circumstances. especially with creative people, this sort of jolt usually produces great results. good luck; we all know that you all have the ability to do the unthinkable after watching AF.
  5. HiddenJournal.txt

my hint, if you want another one is this, HINT................................ it's something you can do after you beat it, that you couldn't do before, but you still have to be very careful You can still do it without beating it. You just have to go a different way before the end. weird, i swear i tried that and the world fell apart, even after i had decoded the moon font and saw the one led to the right room.

  7. I haven't seen that, but I literally laughed out loud. That is so ridiculous!
  8. HiddenJournal.txt

YES!!! When it didn't crash, it was the best feeling. I was putting the books/keys on the opposite stands! duh. Did it completely in game. I have no programming knowledge at all, so I didn't really have a choice. Got one hint from Nikkelitous (hint: find the hiddenjournal in the world somewhere), but found it and the key and everything else. it is probably the most rewarding gaming thing i've done in a good while. Love this Brandon!
  9. Spacebase Prototype Feedback

I just had about an hour of good fun with Spacebase. I echo what has been written in the previous posts. I like that I was up and running my base instantly; no huge tutorial, or overly complex micro-management. If DF were to make a full version, I would definitely buy. If I could add some things in a full game, it would be some sort of resource management layer beyond 'matter' and happiness or mood. Also, perhaps each zone, you could enter a 'mini-game' type thing unique to each zone, like simple crafting system at the pub, 'operation' type game in infirmary, etc. This would give some fun breaks from base management, but wouldn't be the focus at all.
  10. Early Music

Chris, great work. I like that it isn't layer upon layer of sound mush, but feels clean and precise. It must be really cool to be able to have your hands on so many different aspects of the game.
