After more than a decade of serving this community well, these forums have finally run their course and it's time to close them down. That doesn't mean we want to close the doors on our community, quite the opposite!
Our discord server grows ever busier by the day, and we encourage all Double Fine fans to meet us over there www.discord.gg/doublefine In a short time these forums will become a read only archive and will remain that way until they become needed again.

    Waiter/Filmmaker. Mostly waiter.
  1. Just saw Hunt For The Wilderpeople. It's super great. The perfect combination of funny/sad. It's warm enough to not be a downer, but still got loads of... feelings. Many feelings. So many great performances, too.
  2. Looked it up. Great video. Well worth the time. 10/10. The dude obviously has some issues, but that video does such a great job of explaining why those are beside the point.
  3. The man is so tranquil, his world would probably be very symmetrical and calm. A woodshop in which there is a Nick Offerman building a woodshop in which there is a Nick Offerman building a woodshop in which there is a Nick Offerman building a woodshop in which there is a steak. The main danger would be becoming so chill and centered that you forget to breathe and die. He had a single repressed memory of laziness. Phil Fish would have a 2 dimensional Quebec filled with 2 dimensional friends, but you gain the ability to rotate them three-dimensionally and discover that on their other surfaces they are actually people who are out to get you. You lash out at the hidden enemies, ensuring that your world only consists of people who are pure and positive on every surface. Later, you discover that you've been in the regular 3 dimensional Quebec all along, and have been abusing some stranger on Twitter. Don't actually have a real problem with Fish. Just an easy target. Yay bullying. What about... William Shatner?
  4. Does the game come with a length of rope? I feel like I'd need it after that. I have a confession to make... I've been PewDiePie this whole time, and now I'm sad. OHHHHHHGGMYGAWWWWWWW-Hey, what was South Park like? Yeah, is South Park a cool guy in real life? He seems like he would be. You sure about that? A friend of a friend said she waited on South Park's table once, and for the tip he just wrote "LOLOL NOPE!" I've heard he licks Nutella from the knife, but then re-uses the knife in th- .... sorry, wrong thread.

  6. Here's a fun game you can play while you wait for Psychonauts 2.

It is. According to Microsoft's focus groups, its weirdness score is 72%. According to our market research, people are concerned that the game may be delightful. Delight should be kept to a minimum. Gamers who aren't used to experiencing positive emotions may become confused and enraged.
  7. Here's a fun game you can play while you wait for Psychonauts 2.

A lot of them are Trump supporters. I wasn't joking about playing this game. It's also nice to see the Fig campaign going so well. Turns out a few noisy jerks don't have as much power as they thought.
  8. With all the Tim-based publicity that's going round, there's a new game that you can play to pass the time. Step 1) Find an interview with Tim that's been posted to YouTube. Step 2) Find a comment beneath the video that uses the phrase "the 3.3 million" at some point. Step 3) Click through to that commenter's profile. Step 4) If it takes you longer than 7 seconds to spot a like or subscription to a GamerGate/Anti-Feminist channel, take a drink. I've been playing all night, and I'm sober enough to fly a jet. < Double Points if of they mention that thing Bobby Kotick said verbatim. > < Triple Word Score if "Schafer" is spelled wrong. >
  9. Not 100% certain, but I took it to mean that a $39 pledge will be cheaper than the retail price of Psychonauts 2 when it is released. In effect, you're getting both games for $39. Not that you're getting a coupon or something. The language is a bit vague, and I hope my interpretation is correct. The pledge tiers have an itemised list at the bottom which tell you exactly what you're getting for your pledge.
  10. The happy topic

Really delighted with the game. Just finished it (went as fast as I could so I wouldn't be tempted to use walkthroughs. I know I'm not to be trusted) and I'm honestly very sad to be leaving that world. I really hope you guys get to make more adventure games in the future. A big thanks to everyone at Double Fine who helped make one of the best games I've played in years!
  11. Best Act 2 Lines/Scenes [Spoilers]

Yeah, those druids were heart-warming no matter how you read it. I was hoping that's where it was heading, and was really pleased by the execution. I also liked Gus' juice fast. I wonder what that could have been a reference to, eh, Tim?
  12. I try not to go into prequel bashing, but Peter Serafinowicz, who voiced Darth Maul, tells funny stories about being involved with Phantom Menace. It's on Richard Herring's podcast, here, and it starts at about 14:30. While I agree that, in hindsight, the prequels aren't the best, it almost seems like they were made in a more innocent time, before the internet ruined our ability to enjoy things.
  13. Broken Age Casting

Hipsterjack is SO over being in the game, man. He was in the game before there even was a game, but now it's gotten all mainstream with voice actors and plot and even a title. Plus, he heard Dialogue Tree got cut (pun explicitly intended) and he isn't about to let the man get away with that kind of injustice. Your hipster got very beatnik towards the end. I like it, though, so I won't narc on you. EDIT: Also, voice cast is looking thoroughly primo. Very excited to see Horvitz in it, and Marek is one creepy-ass wolf.
  14. Has Tim Schafer lost his mojo

He appears to be moving back to the classic Schafer look of the 1990s. Read all about it in my new magazine, Schafer Quarterly.
  15. Episode 11: Ship It

Back on the topic of how ace this instalment was, it was ace!
