  1. My girlfriend did; I didn't. It looks like it's not only slacker backers who are missing e-mails though (judging by this thread). Part of me expected this, I suppose. Yeah, it's kind of a bum out. I'm honestly not expecting it to get fixed before the official release date at this point. I just hope that I don't run into any further issues trying to play it tomorrow. Same.
  2. My girlfriend did; I didn't. It looks like it's not only slacker backers who are missing e-mails though (judging by this thread). Part of me expected this, I suppose. On a more optimistic note, congrats to your girlfriend for getting to play the beta!
  3. Some of us apparently have. It's kinda disappointing that it turned out this way.
  4. Haven't received a response either. It's unfortunate.
  5. Are slacker backers who backed through the Double Fine Humble Bundle not getting codes like the other slacker backers? I haven't received an email with one yet.
  6. I haven't either. Sent a second email off to the support address - hopefully I'll get an answer soon. Is this my curse for living in Canada?
  7. Are Kickstarter backers the only ones getting codes today? Or are slacker backers supposed to get them as well?
  8. On my first playthrough, I chose to start with Vella because her world appealed to me more, and I immediately fell in love with her story. The classic-adventure-game feel of her part really clicked with me. Shay's part, with its more modern approach to adventure games, didn't really interest me, and I even felt a little annoyed that I had to play as him to complete Act I. (That said, I wasn't favourably disposed to Shay's world in the first place because I was worried about Elijah Wood being cast either on a whim or as stunt casting, and the first person tone in Shay's trailer threw me off. I expected that Shay's part would have narration and would seriously clash with Vella's part, which appeared to have no narration judging from her trailer.) On my second play through, I began in Shay's world and started to enjoy it. I think a large part of that, though, was because of the secondary characters, who became more intriguing and complex as I spent time with them, especially Mom and the Red Yarn Pal (who is among my top five characters, no joke).
  9. Didn't we leave Gary out in space? Or am I not remembering things correctly? I agree about the cloud shoes being used on the whipped cream mountain. if i remember correctly, shay says something like "yay, another grabbing gary for my collection"..so there may be more than one i also agree on the cloudshoe for whipped cream thing It's possible that a collection of Shay's childhood toys (separate from those in the Junk Ro- I mean, Hall of Heroes) is lying around somewhere. Then again, another Grabbin' Gary might make the first Gary's sacrifice kind of meaningless (in my opinion anyway), so I don't know. I'm happy that a lot of people are talking about the cloud shoes in relation to the whipped cream mountain, because figuring out that connection (prior to going on the boards to see if it was a topic) was one of the secret thrills I experienced while playing the game a second time.
  10. And Vella is "a evll," which you just know is meant to be "a evil," but Tim changed a letter to hide this important fact from players.

  12. I only got stuck twice on my first playthrough: first, on how to beat Mog Chothra (like many people, I had no idea that I had to use the ladder) and second, on which preexisting NavScarf pattern I had to use for Prima Doom (which was partly my fault for not paying enough attention). Other than that, I didn't get frustratingly stuck. I solved some puzzles by accident (knocking off Gus, the Riddle of Yorn) but those puzzles seemed more logical on my second time around. (There are at least two or three characters who say the fruit has a pit in it, for instance.)
  13. I wonder if we're going to see what's behind that mountain instead of just what's at the top. (Part of me hopes there's a hidden cave.) Some people have suggested that Shay might find a shell horn in Shellmound and use that to get past the snake. I wonder if Shay will encounter Harm'ny and expose him as a fraud (he seems to have a lot of golden eggs hidden thereā€¦). EDIT: This is somewhat off-topic, but in case anyone hasn't already done so. use Grabbin' Gary on the Space Weaver. The response is both very funny and a little sad.
