    Double Action Newbie
  1. I was planning to play Broken Age from the start (I've only played act 1 so far), and then I found this on the GOG forums. Apparently backers received GOG keys in addition to the Steam key and Humble download. GOG is my preferred platform for PC games, so I quickly checked my Humble account, but no luck. Were the GOG keys only given to the original Kickstarter backers, or are slacker backers supposed to be included? For the record, I became a slacker backer via the $35 tier in the Humble Double Fine Bundle back in 2013. Thanks.
  2. Is this limited to Kickstarter backers only? I'm a slacker backer, and haven't received an email yet. Not really a big deal for me since I can't play until the weekend anyway, but it could be a problem for others. In any case, congratulations to the team!
  3. Wow, I missed the DF reference when I played it. I really liked the game, and it had me laughing out loud like an idiot several times. Which is a good thing.
  4. Tried again with Firefox and IE (I normally use Chrome), and still getting the same error
  5. I'm trying to change my DF forum password through the "Your Control Panel -> Username and Password". For some reason, the forum software thinks I'm trying to change my username as well, giving the error: "The form you submitted contained the following errors The screen name you chose is not available" The Reset Password function worked, but now I can't change it to something I can actually remember. Any ideas on what the problem could be?
  6. broken age or mass effect

Apples or oranges? I love them both, but they're completely different games. I'd say pick up Broken age now, and get Mass Effect when it inevitably goes on sale. Good luck with the Mass Effect DLC though. The EA/BioWare's DLC pricing is ridiculous.
  7. I would rather see DF being able to fund the game on their own, without relying on Kickstarter or a publisher. Having to crowd fund every game just isn't sustainable in the long run. That's not to say that I won't support DF if they make another Kickstarter project (I probably will). But to me, that could indicate that they're not doing as well financially as they (and we) would like.
  8. Awesome! Went ahead and bought a copy. I also love Bandcamp -- they're one of the few online music stores that offer lossless downloads. Thanks for the info!
  9. AFAIK they'll continue all the way to the completion of Act II.
  10. First of all congratulations to DF for releasing (Act 1 of) the game! Being a slacker backer, I wasn't able to get the soundtrack tier, so it's great to see that the soundtrack is now available on Bandcamp. I'm wondering though, is this the full soundtrack covering both Act I and II? If it isn't, and I buy it now, will the additional tracks for Act II be added to my Bandcamp purchase when they come out? Thanks!
  11. Ideally, they wouldn't have to do a Kickstarter for their next game(s) after the ones that are currently in the works. That would mean: a) Their finances are good enough that they can fund/publish the games themselves, or b) They struck a good deal with a publisher, i.e. DF keeps the rights to the IP, the publisher doesn't meddle too much with development, etc.
  12. I'm having the exact same issue on RC8. Running Windows 7 64-bit on an Intel Core i3-530 with an AMD HD7750, with the latest stable drivers from AMD.
  13. I can't even buy Iron Brigade even if I wanted to, because Steam blocks out GFWL titles in our country. I just hope Microsoft, DF, or whoever is holding up the removal of GFWL gets their act together.
  14. ^Vella wants to kill Mog Chothra because she's afraid it will destroy her village, because she escaped.
  15. Good to know that I wasn't the only one. Probably would've been stuck for a while if I didn't accidentally hit one of the tentacles, lol. I didn't use a guide either. The solutions to all the puzzles make sense, which I guess is why some people think it's too easy.
