  2. 1. An ASUS netbook. 2. A shoulder-bag from Cyberdog. 3. Two Sleepytime Gorilla Museum CDs 4. Brazil, Donnie Darko, and The League of Gentlemen Are Behind You! on DVD. 5. iTunes and Topshop gift-cards. 6. Various Jon Ronson books. 7. And finally, a Psychoville mug. >D
  3. I'm meaning to go see it at some point. Not sure when. But hopefully... :'D Also excited about BBC Sherlock, not to derail the topic so soon (you should all watch that, by the way; it's amazing).
  4. But it makes no sense. Remember scarecrow, you have to use your imagination. Quite. Besides, not everything needs to make sense for it to be enjoyable... and I could kind of follow it, so...
  5. Your Christmas List!

I will hopefully be receiving a netbook... Other than that... I asked for some CDs, specifically by Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, and a shoulder-bag. Exciting stuff, I know.
  6. top 5 movies 0f 2011

I wasn't sure whether to reply to this thread, but now other people have so I guess I can. I'm totally that insecure. :'D Anyway... my top five movies this year were The Debt, Paul, Super 8, X-Men: First Class, and maybe The Inbetweeners Movie? I don't know. My favourite non-2011 film that I saw this year has to be Donnie Darko. Just... how did I miss it before?!
  7. 2011 Year in Review

^ Indeed. Regarding the original intention of the topic, I agree about the Libyan Civil War and the Occupy Protests being the biggest events. And regarding stuff that happened this year, uhh... well... My family finally sold my late grandmother's house. I made some awesome new friends, online and otherwise. I discovered the wonderful fandom that is Psychoville, and also continued to play Psychonauts to death. And I joined Tumblr. Totally important, I know.
  8. Donnie Darko. I love this movie so very much.
  9. The Second Annual Double Fine Action Awards!!

^ ^ Wait, you're sad that no one saved your picture? o-o I'm relieved no one saved mine... as far as I know...
  10. Everybody get random!

I've been around, but it feels like I haven't posted here in ages. So, uh... hi.
  11. I went to see In Time, mainly because there was nothing else on at the time. It wasn't excruciatingly bad; the writing was pretty sketchy but I liked the concept and visuals.
  12. Music

I'm still so sad I can't go to Resistanz. It was actually a music festival where I would have been happy to see almost all of the acts... but it's strictly over-18s only. D: So... unless it keeps going for another four years, I'll never be able to experience it for myself...
  13. What are you playing?

^ Indeed it is... and unfortunately, I uninstalled because a certain part kept making my computer crash. That was an incredibly short run, but oh well. I'd rather not risk anything when I fail at most things computer-related and have a lot of important work on that system at the moment... but maybe I'll try to troubleshoot when nothing's particularly urgent; maybe it was just a blip in the installation - which is very possible given how much the launcher was getting on my nerves. It's kind of annoying, though, since my computer doesn't seem to have problems with recent single-player games - and it's been able to run (admittedly older) MMORPGs before... but it really struggled with DCUO. Even the cursor wasn't working well. :c
  14. What are you playing?

From what I've seen of the gameplay, it looks pretty good; a little real-time than a lot of MMOs. Unfortunately, due to the instability of the launcher and the poorness of my computer, it's taking ages to download updates, so I wouldn't know first-hand... I was just about to talk about DCUO. I've been playing from the free to play launch and I'm hooked. This is probably one of the best MMO's I have ever played.Combat is engaging, fast paced and fun and powers are very interesting as they are entertaining. Environments are also incredible detailed and fun to look at and all quests and NPCs are fully voice acted. They also have nifty little comic cut scenes after most of the quest lines. Only real complaint is not crafting and the creator is really bad. I don't mind the lack of crafting. I just end up putting too much time into it when the option exists. Also it would be of little economic use if the currency-limit for free users is so low. But I'm really enjoying the gameplay; it's awesome! I tried out a couple of builds; one I wasn't so keen on and one I love (dual pistols with gadgets)... and after lowering a couple of settings, the lag is tolerable. So I think I'll keep playing. 8D
  15. Occupy Wall Street

Have to say it was pretty hypocritical to try and kick Occupy Wall Street out. The US supports other countries' citizens when they protest about their respective oppressive governments, but they complain when a group in their own country uses their right to free speech? Then again, I'm a hypocrite myself. If it had been some kind of far-right group I'd probably be cheering the police on. ¬_¬

  17. Music

Fair enough. I guess the only way it can go away is if people stop paying attention to it... I've been listening to a lot of Faith No More lately. I also bought Flicker by Ayria, but it's kinda bland compared to Hearts For Bullets, except for a couple of songs - for example, 'My Revenge On The World' is a fantastic track.
  18. It's quiet in here today...

Haven't found many conversations in which I can contribute without sounding like the total idiot I really am, unfortunately. c:
  19. What are you playing?

I'm one of the only people not playing Skyrim, apparently. o-o So instead I'm downloading DC Universe Online, seeing as it's free and I've been meaning to give it a go for a while.
  20. Just got 100% and Rank 101 :-D

Sorry for double posting, but... Done! I have Rank 101 but I still have a couple of achievements to get on my next playthrough. c:
  21. RE: Coach's Super Punching Game of Lameness

^^ It's the 50-point level I'm guessing neuromancer was on about. I guess the issue is the point-reduction whenever you miss a target... which also produces most of the challenge, so... ^ Yes, definitely keep to the centre. Also, study the distance and direction from which Raz can punch so you don't need to move as much, and don't try to do it all in one go if you keep failing on one level.
  22. Just got 100% and Rank 101 :-D

^ Same here. Just beat Waterloo World with just 2 figments to collect later (I am doubtful as to whether I'll find them because WW is evil in that way) ... so I'll probably go through Black Velvetopia tonight. c:
  23. RE: Coach's Super Punching Game of Lameness

I admit, I found the later levels more frustrating than the Meat Circus. Even the original Meat Circus. I kind of cheated to get both achievements, though; I opened a couple of applications to run in the background and the game kept a steady amount of lag, allowing for a little more reaction time. How it didn't ruin the controls as well, I'll never know... unless I'm so used to playing lagging games that I just automatically adapt now.
