  • Biography
I am the leader of the resistance of the V-13 Dimension, a world much like this one where technology has advanced rapidly, and am fighting a war for freedom against the tyrant Jim Ether IV, who oppresses us with his art-marines, with his Vectorman, his second-in-command and PR guy, spreads the influence of his master to other worlds. Only this one stands independent, as Jim's scientists have not yet found a way to get inside, so I am hiding here as I formulate a plan to take back my home world.
  1. I'm back from the pits of hell to say that Xenogears is pretty dang great and even if it falls apart towards the end I've found the game interesting, cool and fun enough so far that I won't regret the time I've spent playing through it. Honestly, after that whole scene on the floating island with the giant fighting robot battle, I don't think anything can make me regret playing this beautiful mess of cool and mostly well-executed stuff.
  2. God Hand is still amazing and probably my favorite PS2 game of all time. One of the main antagonists is fat elvis. As you can tell, God Hand is a very serious and deep game. Now that I'm through with Viewtiful Joe 1, I'm playing God Hand alongside Okami and the original Devil May Cry. Devil May Cry 1 is a really good action game mechanically, it's really fun to play when the camera isn't making it impossible to see during boss fights. Really, DMC1 and God Hand have me convinced that Shinji Mikami is way better at directing action games than he is at directing horror games like Resident Evil 1 & 2.
  3. God Hand is seriously, like, one of the best beat 'em up games I have ever fucking played. It's amazing because it's so clear that it was a game Clover made without any money left after making Okami just from how much the cutscenes and sense of humor all do not give a shit, and yet it's got really awesome mechanics and tight controls, and it's really hard without feeling like it's being unfair somehow. Viewtiful Joe is also pretty sweet. Not quite nearly as amazing, but it's still pretty damn good. Really challenging combat focusing around taking on groups of enemies and taking them all down very stylishly. Really fun writing and cool visuals, generally a really good game in it's own right. I'm mostly playing it because I owned Viewtiful Joe 2 as a kid and never actually played the first one. Or beat 2, for that matter. Once I'm done with Viewtiful Joe, I'm gonna play through Okami before I get around to Viewtiful Joe 2. Basically, I'm playing through every Clover studios game. At some point, I also plan on playing MadWorld and possibly No More Heroes.
  4. Metal Gear Rising, like many other things, is even better the second time, when you know what you're doing, and you do it Hard. (GET IT??? IT IS A SEX JOKE) Also, if anyone ever said that Mark of the Ninja is the only good stealth game, I totally 100% disagree with that entirely because seriously the Thief games are still really fucking good and anybody who implies that they're bad stealth games has no idea what they're talking about. This isn't nostalgia talking, I first played Thief 2 within the last three or four years and got all the way to the last level, those games are fucking great. Not to say Mark of the Ninja is a bad game, I'm sure it's really good, but it's not THE ONLY GOOD STEALTH GAME (also i don't care what anybody says the metal gear solid games are actually very good stealth games too)
  5. THE RULES OF NATURE! (metal gear rising: revengeance is a good game)
  6. Started playing through The Witcher 2 a while ago. I couldn't get into the first Witcher, but 2 is pretty cool. Also been playing through the Blackwell games, which are all pretty great. Aside from that, playing through Conker's Bad Fur Day for the first time. It's really bull shit and frustrating and it's one of my top ten 3D platforming games now because it proves that video games are art.
  7. You'll have to read the upcoming installments of this retrospective to find out whether I agree or not. Although the title of this thread pretty much confirms that I don't Your opinions are factually incorrect.
  8. I just wanted to step in here to say that I love the look of Zelda Wii U and am seriously considering picking up a Wii U if it ends up being as fantastic as it looks.
  9. I'm going to assume that I'm far from the only person here who thinks Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is goddamn amazing. If I am the only one, than that should be illegal.
  10. Literally everything I have ever heard about this game from the start to the end of it's development is a series of horrible design decisions and development hell, and now that the game is about to come out, and people are streaming it, even the people I know of who thought it would be good and pre-ordered the damn thing have said "yeah, it looks like it's going to be pretty awful." Christ, what a damn train wreck.
  11. Everybody who says the last mission of Dishonored is more climactic and awesome on a High Chaos run is right.
  12. I beat Act 1 in 3 hours and I don't regret buying it.
  13. Holiday performances are very long. I finish and go home to play old school shooting games. Too much Wang for you, huh?
