  1. I'm still getting the "Disk cannot be read" error.
  2. Ahh, lucky guys. Whatever my problem is, it isn't related to direct x.
  3. I'm still getting the "Disk cannot be read" error with this new patch. I really enjoyed the little bit I was able to play on my laptop. It's not made for gaming though (game runs very slow); I really, really wanna play it on my main system.
  4. Downloaded the patch, but still get the "Disk cannot be read" error. Although now the black screen goes to window mode rather than full screen so it's a little easier to exit when it acts up.
  5. I downloaded the patch, even tried redownloading, but still get the "Disk cannot be read" error. Another bit of information I just thought of. My steam (and thus all games for it), install on a secondary hard disk drive (my main drive being way too small). I've had older games come up with odd issues like this when not installed on a main drive. This probably has nothing to do with it, but you never know.
  6. My system uses: Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 980 3.71 GHz Ram: 16GB DDR3 System: Windows 64 Professional Motherboard: Asus Crosshair V Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 6990 Thank you.
  7. I can't get the game to start at all. I downloaded through steam, and when I try to open it, it gives me the message "Disk cannot be read" (what disk?). When I try to close it, it simply reopens. The game itself just freezes. Anyone else have this issue?
