      These Forums are closing!   10/04/2019

After more than a decade of serving this community well, these forums have finally run their course and it's time to close them down. That doesn't mean we want to close the doors on our community, quite the opposite!
Our discord server grows ever busier by the day, and we encourage all Double Fine fans to meet us over there www.discord.gg/doublefine In a short time these forums will become a read only archive and will remain that way until they become needed again.
You never know, it might happen.  There is... a prophecy. Thank you all for being part of these forums, and remember that the fun is definitely not over - so please join us on Discord! Love ya, Spaff, Tim, Info Cow, and all of Double Fine.

  1. Costume Quest PC Support: Legacy Thread

Fixed my problem with low FPS by updating my Intel BIOS, thanks for the help.
  2. Costume Quest PC Support: Legacy Thread

Well so far I have lowered resolution to 800*600 and lower, as well as disabling all advanced options without any effect on the low FPS. I also looked into updating my card, but the latest update causes my card to stop working and then I can't even open the game as it crashes the second it is opened. Is there something you need to do before updating, such as uninstalling previous patches, or is my graphics card broken? Another side effect of the patch is that occasionally the screen disappears to become garbled as if the card just broke. Sorry I can't describe it further.
  3. Costume Quest PC Support: Legacy Thread

I'm experiencing a large drop in FPS, what is recommended to fix it? It gets to the point that cut-scenes and knocking on doors cause 1 fps/sec. Another thing I have had trouble with is the battle screen which also experienced low fps, black screens and constant graphical tear's, though it was fixed by alt+enter. My specs; Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz 3.24 GB RAM ATI Radeon HD 5450 Windows XP 32 bit I've already installed Catalyst though it isn't the latest version, the latest caused my graphic card to fail, along with Directx3D.
