  1. It's now even in the news! https://thenextweb.com/gaming/2018/05/15/monkey-island-fans-are-begging-disney-to-sell-the-rights-back-to-its-creator/ As someone put it, "Let's feed the Disney snake 🐍 an ipecac flower with pancake syrup and get them to vomit Monkey Island back up"
  2. I found this today, it's finally our chance to make our opinion count! https://www.change.org/p/disney-please-sell-the-rights-to-monkey-island-back-to-its-creator-ron-gilbert
  3. Will there be additional content in the game (new puzzles, locations, characters, items, etc.)?
  4. Eras of Adventure now has its own fanpage on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Eras-of-Adventure/605745202884980 Hopefully Justin Bailey gets it on Kickstarter one day.
  5. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/942343365/the-interactive-adventures-of-dog-mendonca-and-piz A really promising Kickstarter project which seems to be inspired by the Lucas classics (you can really see this in the demo: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/942343365/the-interactive-adventures-of-dog-mendonca-and-piz/posts/1024079), as well as noir/horror movies (like American Werewolf in London) and Indiana Jones (there are references to Nazi occultism and the Vatican). It is based on a cult Portuguese comic, and the storyline is set in Lisbon. It involves a werewolf private detective, his demon assistant (in a little girl's form), a talking gargoyle head and a young pizza boy solving all sorts of mysteries. The plot premise is this: In ages past, Lisbon was the stage of great power struggles, a powerful capital and a strategic point that separated the Old Continent from the vast ocean that lead into the New World. Nowadays things haven't changed that much. What looks like a normal city extends its webs of mystery like an iceberg, deep beneath its surface. For the supernatural beings of this planet, Lisbon is the new Casablanca, a terrain that belongs to no one, where the hidden politics of an unseen world are at play and normal folks stress to build a life among all the forces in conflict. It is an asylum for the disenfranchised hordes of vampires, goblins and other such creatures but, like any other place like it, it's also harrased by the interest of different political agendas, secret societies and organized crime. In Lisbon, every shadow has eyes and every eye is witness to a new mystery.
  6. IMO, the consensus is already clear: Number 1 - What Could Go Wrong Number 2 - Eras of Adventure I'd love to hear from Double Fine employees.

  8. Damn, just found out you cannot edit polls on this forum. Well, let's agree that by Damnit Jerry, I meant ExtraTerrarium ;D (mods, please change this and add the other options like Bad Golf 2).
  9. This Amnesia Fortnight had lots of exciting projects (I think more than the previous ones), and a lot of people feel dissatisfied that their vote did not make it. I think at least one or two of them deserve a Kickstarter, so that we don't have to wait for AF 2015 to get them launched. I think DF wouldn't handle more than 1-2 Kickstarters, so I'm suggesting that you choose no more than two options. The main purpose of this thread is to let DF know which of the projects are the most demanded by the public. I would be really interested to hear the DF employees speak on this matter (whether you like the Kickstarter idea, and what are your choices)
  10. Now that Broken Age is officially revealed, I just wanted to ask Double Fine one question... Originally, before the budget exceeded 400000 $, it was intended to be a "cute little game" reminiscent of Tim's old creations. Therefore I suppose the plot ideas Tim had in mind at this stage were quite different from the Broken Age concept. I would be really interested to hear about those ideas and about the originally intended graphic style.
  11. I'd be really interested to know what are the official Double Fine names for each of the buttons.
  12. I disagree, we still do not know the Secret of Monkey island.
  13. I would also give my money to see "MI3a: The Secret Revealed or your Money Back". I suppose that now it wouldn't be canon (since CMI, EMI and TOMI already are), but it could be an "alternate version" game like "Silent Hill: Shattered Memories".
  14. Update #2: the Spanish writer Ramón Cerdà, who claimed one of the 5 "Look mum, that's me" rewards and will appear as an in-game character. And a new screenshot:
  15. The Pendulo Studios jump on the crowdfunding train, having started their own campaign related to the game "Day One". It tells the story of Ethan, a young and acid journalist who learns from his doctor that he’s got a terminal disease: he'll be dead before the end of the day. Back home, he finds a capsule and a note: “This will keep you alive 24 extra hours. Come to Paris for more. We’ll find you.” fZoTLL0mAgs They're providing a vast array of rewards, including an oldschool "big box" edition of the game, an opportunity to put your own creations (art, music, texts, etc.) in the game, Ethan Grant's Edition of The Devil's Dictionary with his own notes, thoughts and traces of events that happen in the game and even the chance to study a course in Videogame Design thanks to Universidad Complutense de Madrid and become an intern in Pendulo Studios. Check this out for more: http://www.ulule.com/dayone/
  16. A few days ago I've stumbled across Crazy Mansion, another project with a crowdfunding campaign. It's very heavily inspired by both Maniac Mansion and Day of the Tentacle, but it doesn't use any copyrighted things from those games. Instead, it's a completely different story set in the same universe. It's created by Desperate Studios team, who created their first games in the days of C64 and Amiga. You may check this out for details: http://crazy-mansion.heimat.eu/ http://www.indiegogo.com/CrazyMansion The GUI design: lluAzStWciA
  17. No, that's not OK... That's magnificent! I think it's the best of your works, some other Psychonauts characters like Sasha and Milla may undergo DOTTification as well if you have the desire for this.
  18. The Somerset Holmes and the Roswell comics.
  19. The Illuminatus! and Schrodinger's cat trilogies, "Rainbow's end" by Vernor Vinge.
  20. Maybe a world that exists in two versions: an "everyday-life" one and the "cartoony twisted" one, and you can switch between the two versions to solve puzzles. Also, a world where all the conspiracy theories are true (think "The Illuminatus!" trilogy).
