  1. It's a bit annoying to see a set of volume settings sliders that have no indication as to how loud the sound is after the change. When you go to options even the background music fades away, so it's hard to tell what, if any, effect the sliders will have, and you will have to just toggle between the menu and the game and hope you hear enough things to be able to tell if the music, sfx and voice levels are to your liking.
  2. I'm sad to say that Starbase DF-9 has managed to significantly reduce my expectations for Double Fine products. I got interested in the game back in the amnesia fortnight, and when it got on steam I bought it .. after having a few fun enough sessions with it ended with game breaking bugs, it seems both me and most of the other customers were thinking along the same lines: just fix the few game breaking bugs and it's great! I gave it several months rest, thinking I'll give them time to fix things before I try it again, and I did try it again just recently. Instead of focusing on the game breaking issues, the dev team focused on adding new features that weren't really needed, and then they apparently (according to some other comments on this forum) they got laid off and a "final build" was shipped. Supposedly it was with the source code (shoving any responsibility for making the game reasonably ok to the community), but it seems only a part of it was shipped as well (lua files, which were included at least with the amnesia fortnight version as well), and completely without any documentation. I'm deeply disappointed with how Double Fine handled this promising new title, and it will affect my opinion and trust towards Double Fine for a long time to come.

  4. actually on the same screen I can see at least one other case where the quotes have been an issue: James "JamesInDigital" Schumacher .. I guess this isn't an isolated thing

I just finished Act 1 and was checking how my name looks like in the credits, and to my huge surprise, for some reason my name is wrong .. instead of double quotes (") there is some weird accented g in it. So instead of: Janne "Lietu" Enberg .. it says: Janne ^gLietu^g Enberg Attached screenshot with the issue highlighted
  6. First of all, thanks for the awesome game, I've been playing it for a while now and I love it. However, there are a few specific things about the game that I've found annoying, and they seem to be mainly related to the cloud colony: * Cloud shoes are automatically taken off your feet when you leave, but not automatically put on when you go back up .. it's not a huge deal if you only do it once or twice but when running around mindlessly trying to figure out what to do next it starts to get annoying. * The fruit is very easy to get rid of, and it's annoying to get a new one. You can eat the fruit, you can give it to Curtis, and I presume you can do other things with it as well as neither of these have produced any useful result. Now to get a new one e.g. from Curtis's place you have to first walk through the house, watch the animation of her climbing back up, walk through the two screens, place down the ladder (since it's automatically picked up every time you leave), walk to the tree, shake the branch, slide down, grab the fruit, climb back up, walk back to the center screen of cloud colony, walk down the ladder and then you're about ready to get back on finding the next thing to try it on. Most of this whole fetching part is also not skippable so it takes maybe a minute or two to do it no matter how much you double-click everything and keep tapping space. It's these little things that always end up frustrating me about adventure games, no matter how great they are overall. I hope you get the chance to do something about these, but I'm sure you have a lot of more important bugs to take care of first, not to mention Act 2.

  10. Just happened to me too, once, when talking to Marek at start of Prima Doom mission and saying "So, that's a wolf suit? What are you ... underneath?" Happened to have made a manual save just before it, so when this happened I retried a few times and it is 100% reproducible. I just sent you the save game and dxdiag files over email to support@doublefine.com with the subject "Broken Age: Text Off-Screen [Thread 11773]". Also attached screenshot, the text is roughly in the same position every time but seems to be slightly differently off screen every time, sometimes you can read "So", sometimes you see the leftmost edge of the "S". From the save game just walk straight to Marek and say: "So, how long have you been living down here?" "Are you... really a wolf?" "So, that's a wolf suit? What are you ... underneath?" It might be relevant that this is a dual-screen system with the game on fullscreen at 1920x1080 on one of the screens. and the other one is 2560x1440.

  13. Hey there .. I guess I won't be able to attend the DFGC today (Saturday) either. Been a bit busy lately, last weekend was hiking in northern Finland, otherwise been quite busy at work so haven't been that active in the channel. This time it seems to have been moved from 22:00 my time to midnight. That's way too late for me, and I can't join in on that.
  14. Agreed, that feature is definitely a must-have for ANY modern adventure game, and it annoys me immensely when I bump into a game without that feature..
