  1. Seemed like that was for distributing full builds of a newer version, not actually patching the installed game client-side. (While the type of patching people here are talking about doesn't seem to be an option) I think it was more of a project resource constraint. Any time he spent building and QAing a patch process is time not spent on bug fixes. They only had so many people available and a very short window of time.
  2. What a wonderful episode and what a wonderful journey this has been. I can't wait to get my hands on the final build. Thanks to everyone at Double Fine for sharing your story with us.
  3. +1 for this. Even if it's just a silly DLC pack, I'll buy it. There's so much good material floating around their games, it's too good to pass up.
  4. Ah, that's a bummer. That path doesn't seem to be exposed to non-rooted Nexus devices. I can live with restarting on my tablet. I might even farm out the grinding to my kids. ;-)
  5. Google and forum searches are failing me. Does anyone know the location of the save data for MMoJ on Android? I'd like to move my save from my phone to my tablet, but I haven't been able to locate the save anywhere while digging around the file system.
  6. While they're at it, full Google Play Games integration would be pretty sweet as well. :-P
  7. That is awesome. I know what Chrome extension I'm installing in people's browsers at work next time they leave their computers unlocked.
  8. Are you using NVIDIA's drivers, or the nouveau drivers that are installed by default? NVIDIA's drivers can't be included in the default install, so you have to enable them. See this page for more information: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BinaryDriverHowto/Nvidia
  9. The only other place I know if is Amazon, but it's $8.99 there: http://amzn.com/B002V6E7TG EDIT: Fixed link
  10. Double Fine shouldn't post things like this: https://twitter.com/DoubleFine/status/306195922516324352. It causes stirrings in my pants... you know, in the wallet region. I'd love to see as many Double Fine games on as my platforms as possibly (especially Linux and Android). I know lots of others do as well, it's pretty much a dead horse at this point. I've worked in the tech industry long enough that I know that ports aren't free. I'd love to be able to chip in to offset that upfront cost if there was a way to do it. I know the tip jar for Reds is there, but I'd like to donate in a way that specifically says, "I'm really jealous watching my children play Middle Manager of Justice on their iPods" or "Please allow me to gather favor with the Gods of Metal without having to reboot into Windows." Any plans on doing something like this? :-)
  11. If Double Fine plans on having a title for the PS4 at launch or near it, that seriously increases my interest in a PS4. Also, if Kinect Party were to become Move Party, that would be pretty swell. Just sayin'.
  12. Yea, be especially careful using this PPA for drivers & kernels. I've had it break my systems in the past. :-( Might be better to use a pastebin (Ubuntu has one) for posting glxinfo or any other other huge output from shell.
  13. FYI: If you've been playing on Windows and want to pick up where you left off, you can just copy the contents of %APPDATA%\Doublefine\TheCave in Windows and drop them in ~/.local/share/Doublefine/TheCave in Linux. Steam Cloud didn't move my save files over from the Windows version, but I don't think that's specific to The Cave. I don't think it's copied my save games from Windows for any other games either. I've had better luck turning off Steam Cloud and symlinking save directories to a Dropbox folder.
  14. There's always the option of firing up Maniac Mansion in ScummVM. That was the first game Ron did that used this formula. [urll=http://trine-thegame.com/site/]Trine[/url] and Trine 2 do a really good job of giving you puzzles that you need to solve by swapping between three characters, but they are really more traditional action platformers and not adventure games. They're still very good, though!
  15. I loaded up the Steam version and ran around the bunkhouse area without any issues. Then I went and dug out my old Logitech Dual Action gamepad and it worked right out of the box without any configuration. Thanks so much to you guys for sticking with this port and continuing to support it!
