  1. I am curious what was done to "remaster" the audio. It does sound like the midi music was simply played through a newer synth device of some sort (I wish they said which one). It would be cool if they enabled you to use your own MIDI device. The "original" audio sounds terrible, especially in red edition's lab. I don't remember sound blaster sounding like the music was played on a tinny rubber band, it is so bad that it makes the game nearly unbearable to play with the original graphics (which I prefer). I wish they had implemented MT-32 recordings or emulation for a more authentic feel.
  2. Thanks to everyone at DF for putting in the long days (and nights). This was an excellent episode and made me realize what a big undertaking this was for the studio. It made me mad when I saw the part about Tim and DF getting hassled by people where they were saying that you "just took the money". It's pretty clear that The DF team took a big risk and put in a lot of effort to make this happen for the fans. I really hope that the team knows how much the true fans really appreciate their work. 3 years is actually a really quick turn around for a quality game especially with a smaller team. I am an original backer so I have a DRM Free copy but I am glad that you guys offered a physical copy and I just preordered mine on amazon.
  3. I'm happy with it. It's $15 so I wasn't expecting a full on overhaul remaster of the game (especially since it doesn't need it). I think double fine made the right call here. This game is already a masterpiece so you can just throw on some quick polish. I think this will prove to Disney or whomever is making the call on what gets released that these old games are still relevant, and can easily turn a profit by re-releasing them for modern platforms.
  4. In the PS4 Version playing on the TV it is very hard to see the sign in the forest area, it kind of blends into the background (when you are zoomed out after placing it)
  5. Does anyone know how this happened? Did Sony purchase the entire Grim Fandango IP or did Double Fine? Or do they just have an agreement to use the property without purchasing it outright? What other IPs is Disney selling (Maniac Mansion / Monkey Island?)
  6. More Detail: I just loaded my game and I am wrapped up by the snake. the sound is crackly and when I go to blow the horn the game instantly exits.
  7. The game completely exited with no error messages. I was walking around near the snake as Vella. 9. I agree that Gim Fandano is a great game but I think one of the reasons that it doe not sell as well as it could have as the fact that it was 3d. I remember when it came out I was annoyed that they made it 3d and the fact you had to have a updated computer to play it probably turned off some would be fans. Even trying to play the game today I have some issues with resolution/graphics using GRIME, but all the 2d SCUMM games play perfectly. 2d graphics are timeless and much easier to emulate/reproduce on newer systems. I've never played a true "Point and Click" 3d adventure game, they always require keyboard or joystick, I like being able to just grab the old trackball, sit on the couch and play MI1 or MI2.
  10. Gotomeeting allows attendees to take control of the keyboard and mouse and not merely watch, but actually play! Does livestream allow you to automatically allow anyone who joins to take keyboard and mouse control?
  11. Tentacles for all!! I started SCUMMVM server back up for anyone who wants to play DOTT, MI1, MI2, Full Throttle, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, or CMI To join just click the link https://www1.gotomeeting.com/join/929314169 and join the meeting! GotoMeeting is free and works on Windows or Mac (and probably linux) Anyone can join and start playing. The control is shared with whoever joins so please be nice and take turns. You can also chat using a microphone or in meeting text chat. If you are taking control please don't close the SCUMM window otherwise it will shut down the game and will have to be restarted manually by me. If you want to play a different SCUMM game or restart the current game press F5 and click go to launcher and pick the game you want to start, again please be careful and do not select quit! The Gotomeeting seems to close after about 24 hours so I will try to keep current links up. Enjoy!
  12. Anyone who wants to play any SCUMM games just let me know and I can set up a new gotomeeting but The meeting is still up for anyone to join and play DOTT all weekend! to play just click the link https://www1.gotomeeting.com/join/652369376 and connect to the meeting (installing the goto meeting plugin is free and there is no malware) click on the game screen to gain control then hit F5 and click return to launcher. Then start the game to start a new game! I can add other SCUMM games for everyone to play later I plan to leave it up all weekend for anyone to play DOTT (if multple people are in the meeitng please be polite and take turns)
  13. Thanks to everyone who joined my live stream, it was really fun. I love the artwork style and the music, both could be updated I suppose but I don't really consider them to appear dated. It did feel a bit short to me as well but then again a great adventure can never be long enough . I love the story and the humor but it sort of felt like almost the whole story was revealed right at the beginning, It didn't really feel there was a progressive revealing of the plot. To be fair I've played it a million times so maybe this is not accurate and the game truly is a masterpiece.
  14. The game is now streaming live! click the link above to join in! All players are able to take keyboard and mouse control, voice chat or text chat!
