Grease

This movie is already much loved by many a movie buff so I'm not going to bother with a lengthy review, I will say two things about it. Olivia Newton-John *sigh* and if you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor and watch it!

Zack and Miri Make a Porno

Kevin Smith has a unique style, which allows him to make his movies as crude and raunchy as can be but still retain its sincerity. Zack and Miri is a such a film. Its crude (and disgusting at certain points) rude and full of nudity. But the character's are all fun and in the two lead's case, lovable. Elizabeth Banks is funny and grounded, and as always has a radiance to her that's probably just lighting, people know how to light that woman though, so my hat's off to the lighting people in Hollywood for making Elizabeth look angelic. Seth Rogan is of course the meat of the comedy in this film, his reactions to a Gay couple fighting is one of the early highlights of this movie and it shows off his unique talent for making lines that would be boring given to another actor into comic gold. The two make for a surprisingly believable on-screen couple. And the romance of the movie is cute and a joy to watch bloom.

Now just so everyone knows, this movie is rated R, and features lots of adult stuff, so kids, stay away! For the rest of you, if you don't mind (like) lots of nudity and sex. Zack and Miri is a great movie for someone looking for some laughs.

Now I don't know the average age of you lot, but if you're old enough,

then I'll urge you to head to the movies and watch:

Lars Von Trier's - ANTICHRIST.

It's a really really good movie, just be prepared for an esthetically disturbing film.

It's a really depressing view on life, but holy mother of the forbidden fruit, it's good!!!!

Go check it out now, that's an order cadet.

On these forums, indeed I am.

But may I ask, how does this thread benefit from that post?

Anyway, if you like a good movie, I'll highly recommend it.

He speaks the truth, his posts contain only the barest of purpose or thought.

I'm about to watch Step Up, would prefer to watch Quantum of Solace, which I still haven't seen, but I'm not going to moan about it, I'm out voted and I still want to watch it, let you guys know what I think tomorrow.

Step Up

It was actually a really good move. Channing Tatum didn't bug me for once, and he can dance, who knew? Everything else was pretty good, nothing too cheesy or hard to swallow. But I can't figure out why girls aren't as forgiving in real life as they are in films.

It was decent for an ATHF episode.

Quantum of Solace

Not as smart as the first film, more action packed though. Not a bad trade off. Daniel Craig reiterates why he's the best Bond since Connery, giving even more depth to the character. Olga Kurylenko is the best Bond girl I've ever seen, she exudes confidence and tough as nails charm while still fulfilling the perquisite feature of any Bond girl, that of being a complete babe. Can't wait for the next one.

Planet Terror and Death Proof. Preferred the latter due to the humour being more to my tastes.

Really? I thought Planet Terror was a lot better, which is weird, because I generally prefer Tarantino's films to Rodriguez's.

Planet Terror's delivery and humour were too weak for my tastes. The characters and tales were predictable(which was obviously the point,) but it just lacked any real weight or notable style. It felt far too reminscent of Rodriguez's earlier film - and indeed, featuring much of the cast from - From Dusk Till Dawn. Which was a better Grindhouse film if you ask me. The last 30-40 minutes of Planet Terror were utterly tedious.

Deathproof had a much subtler approach and was generally hilarious throughout the latter half of the film without trying to be too ironic in its delivery.

Neither were particularly phenomenal films, but for what they did: I felt Deathproof did it better. ;-)

I have yet to see Watchmen. But I'd like to.

I really liked Quantum of Solace. They've really suprised me with the 2 recent quality Bond movies. Both really great films. In my mind, no other Bond comes close.

I recently saw Sky High & Up.

Sky High I had heard good things about. I'm a sucker for superhero stuff. And it turned out to be a pretty good movie. Well done, and had some genuinely funny parts. PLUS it had Bruce Campell, 2 Kids in the Hall, WonderWoman, and a really well picked cast.

I was shocked to learn it was a Disney film. I'd love to see them continue this series over say... High School Musical or any other live action junk they are putting out.

(Plus it featured my new love Danielle Panabaker. I think she's only like 2 years younger then me, so that's not totally creepy/weird right?)

Up was great. I loved it. And I got to see it in 3D. Which is cool. The story was wonderful and emotional. I like how it had main characters you wouldn't normally expect from a big name movie. And yet it pulled it off and I think it would be enjoyable for any age.

I didn't like the Watchmen movie. It didn't have the same sense of inpemding doom I loved in the comic.

I don't know if it counts as a movie, but I just watched Dr. Horrible's Sing A-Long Blog. I don't really like musicals, but this is amazing! It's got Neil Patrick Harris in it too, and, of course, I can't forget to mention the supreme talent of the Great Joss Whedon!

It's alright. Probably my least favourite Tarantino film, though.

I wonder what Inglourious Basterds is turning out like.
