Can't Run Game [Windows Edition]

Recommended Posts

Crazy. Starting it with "--log" made it run. Curious, but good, I guess.

Hmm that is not good at all. I also just pushed another (minor) patch, so I'm curious if the game now runs even w/o the '--log'?

If you can find a file called "moai_log_BrokenAge.txt" in your installation directory would you mind sending that to support@doublefine.com?

Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.

It might just be my ineptitude, but running the game whith --Log doesn't create a log file in the Broken Age folder. What am I doing wrong?

Not much to be found in the file. I'll send it in a moment.

Anyway, it does work without "--log" now. So, I assume I must have activated it exactly when the new patch came through. That makes a lot more sense, thinking about it.

It's actually

--log

(two dashes). The forum converts two dashes to a hyphen for some reason.

I think it's can be helpful if you stick link to this topic on Steam forums because not everyone check this forum.

Also some people might try to update graphics drivers from laptop manufacturer websites which always contain outdated drivers.

So I guess it's good idea to add direct links to GPU manufacturer websites, e.g:

Make sure you download your drivers from the graphics card manufacturer website:

For integrated Intel HD GPUs:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx

For Nvidia GPUs:

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx

For ATI/AMD GPUs:

http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx

Drivers on laptop manufacturer websites are usually outdated; don't use them to update video card drivers if possible.

I help with player support for other OpenGL-only title on Steam so outdated Intel/AMD drivers is always problem. Unfortunately people usually trying to update drivers though Windows or their laptop manufacturer sites.
