Spaff Posted April 5, 2016 (edited) 1.01 We made a small update to the game that addresses a rare issue where save games could end up in a state where they could not be loaded. If you were affected by this bug you should now be able to load the problematic saves and continue where you left off! 1.02 Audio - attempt at addressing the reported audio corruption issue. The development team has not been able to reproduce this problem but we are attempting to work around it based on the information provided by players. Audio - on Windows fixed a minor timing issue leading to slightly delayed music looping. Achievements - fixed Moronic Drone not unlocking correctly when using the "give" verb instead of "use." Concept art - fixed a bug where art numbered 140-144 would sometimes not unlock depending on how a puzzle was solved. Controls - added support for '+/=' key to modify subtitle text speed to go along with '-' key. OSX - fixed a crash when opening the bonus menu while set to German language. Windows - fixed a crash when running the game under a Windows username that uses "wide" characters. Windows - fixed a similar issue when the game install path contains wide characters. This fixes a crash on launch when using a Japanese username, for example. 1.03 Audio - improved accuracy of remastered pitch bend logo sound in the intro cutscene. Art - fixed a minor bug where a stray white pixel appeared in Laverne's shoes in a particular costume. Art - fixed a minor bug where Green Tentacle sorted behind a desk incorrectly in a certain room. Commentary - fixed a minor typo in English. UI - removed the concept art unlocked notification at the top of the screen during gameplay. You can still see when new art has been unlocked by looking at the main/pause menu. Fixed a bug where the wrong language would be selected by default on the first launch of the game depending on the OS user interface language. Windows - worked around an issue where the window location could be saved in a bad location if you played on multiple monitors and then later unplugged the monitor the game window was displayed on. We're still working through all the issues reported on our support site, if you are experiencing any problems or have a suggestion please let us know. At some point we will have to cease working on patching the game any further unless major issues are found, so please report (or vote on) anything you'd like us to consider! http://support.doublefine.com 10/16 Linux Reduced CPU usage Updated gamepad bindings Added `--audio-devices` launch option for listing available audio devices Added `--audio device N` launch option for specifying the audio device that the game should use, where N is the index of the audio device returned by `--audio-devices` Edited October 17, 2016 by DF Vic
Joe Mudd Posted April 6, 2016 1.03- Audio - improved accuracy of remastered pitch bend logo sound in the intro cutscene. This was a surprise, and DEFINITELY an improvement. Are you looking into finding more accurate sources for some of the other sound effects? The ones that really stick out like a sore thumb for me are: 1) The squelchy Tentacle "walking" sounds, just because this was so iconic in the original. 2) Doors opening and closing. I hear the original sounds for this in other media all the time; surely you can chase them down? 3) DEFINITELY the toilet flushing sound. This was a classic cartoon sound effect before, again, I'd heard it used in loads of different cartoons. It was quick and punchy, and the new sound effect is just bland and barely audible. And the most important one for me... 4) The near-ubiquitous "Ding!" noise. It's all over the game, but some good example are when a character becomes playable, the hotel service bell, the microwave in the future and Doctor Fred getting a bright idea in the epilogue. Before, this was a much deeper sound with a personality to it, akin to something you'd hear on a slot machine. Less ding, more dong. Wait, that sounds wrong...anyway, now it honestly sounds to me like someone just Googled "free ding sound effect", and because it's heard in the game so frequently, it drives me nuts because it just feels so "wrong". These are just my casual suggestions (Hence commenting here instead of on the Support system, which I'll save for actual faults and glitches in the game) but I'd love it if you could find the original sound effects for these, or at least something a bit more similar. We talked about this at length in other threads but it basically comes down to this: The original sound effects ARE out there in uncompressed states. Monkey Mania made a comparison for the tentacle flop: https://clyp.it/yt21mo2b The first one is the compressed version in the original game, the second are the uncompressed files. But the problem is they are in sound libraries that would cost a lot of cash to buy (around 300-500 dollars per library). And I guess we can't just take them off of youtube if we don't wanna get sued. I made the suggestion that they could add an option to use the compressed sound effects taken straight out of the original game instead but supposedly that's not easy to program, if I understood that right. Torbjörn Andersson Posted April 11, 2016 - Audio - improved accuracy of remastered pitch bend logo sound in the intro cutscene. I'm glad to hear that. I haven't played the game (I'm still waiting for the Linux version), but in the gameplay videos I've seen that were presumably made before the fix, it bugged me how much that opening sounded like back when the FluidSynth software synthesized had a bug related to pitch bend https://sourceforge.net/p/fluidsynth/tickets/12/

ThunderPeel Posted May 9, 2016 Strange. They did say a final patch was coming.
ShyGuyXXL Posted May 9, 2016 I really hope they still fix the Weird Ed cutscene. There's so much not working right with the music. Here's the report, if you wanna vote for it. http://support.doublefine.com/forums/300498-day-of-the-tentacle-remastered/suggestions/13423470-a-number-of-things-wrong-with-the-weird-ed-cutscen It would be a shame if the game stayed like this forever. It may not be a game breaking bug but it really softens the impact of that scene.
Diduz76 Posted May 9, 2016 I bet the multiple-saves slots for Maniac Mansion will be a pretty long update to produce, since everything must be tested on Windows/Mac/PS4/PSVita. They're still working on the Linux version though, so they've definitely not dropped the game (and I guess they'll want to implement the new updates in that version too).
