Day One

Like @Cheeseness is doing with Pongball, I'll try to keep this updated daily, although times will be different for everyone because of time zone differences.  I'll try to keep it updated with Double Fine's time zone in mind (PDT, which is UST -7).

On the forums:

  • We were testing the waters to see how much interest there was in Amnesia Adventure, as I'm also lead on The Lost Dev Team.  As you can tell, from the fact that this sub-forum exists, the response was amazing, so we went forward with the idea. :)

Development:

  • On the development side, I (@Jenni) familiarized myself with the Escoria framework for Godot, which was a fairly straightforward learning experience, as we'd previously used Godot for the Forum Downtime Funtime Adventure project (although Escoria wasn't out yet at the time of development, so that bit was new to me).

Day Two

The project got a breath of wind this day, as people were discussing how game development would take shape.

On the forums:

@TimeGentleman, @Cheeseness, @flesk and I (@Jenni) began discussion about how the development process would be handled.  It was decided that the first few days would be used as a brain storming session to decide how the game would take shape, then development on the game would begin in earnest after that.

Day Three

The brainstorming session began in earnest today, as many people put forward some really awesome ideas for how the game would work. Also, this project was officially greenlit as many people indicated that they were interested in working on it.  Development on the game commenced today.

Day Four:

Today was a busy day, as concept art was shared and bugs were fixed in the code.

 

The following commits were made on the main repo:

  • Jenni fixed the broken nodes and menu item visibility (b7d419e)
  • Jenni added Escoria's test scene for engine testing purposes. (#10)
  • Jenni fixed sprite handling, fixed references to broken resources, and added a simple project icon (7e94019)

Day Five

Today we had a lot of great concept art that was focused on the hub that will connect all of the scenes together.

Day Seven

Today has been a comparatively quiet day, though important progress is still being made in terms of refining the project structure and getting initial scenes in place.

 

In the main repo:

  • flesk removed some redundant files (#15)
  • flesk renamed the scenes folder to rooms (e5d499a)
  • Jenni added objects and music to the Doug the Ogre memory (c740ec76)
  • flesk added support for right click object interaction (f87bfe9)

 

In the assets repo:

  • Jenni added a "Meadow" music track (c893a93)

Day Eight

Another quiet day today, though things are in place for people to contribute memories, which will hopefully bear fruit in the coming days!

Day Nine

Today saw more engine refinement, further development on the Doug the Ogre memory and some concept refinement on the space memory.

  • Jenni updated the menu based on a combination of the hub background and Mythalore's work (397ed66)

  • Jenni added walk animations for the Doug the Ogre memory (7903c38)

Day Ten

Today saw the addition of a credits dialogue, more work on the main menu background, and a bunch of initial art for the space memory scene. Exciting!

Day Eleven

Today saw more changes to the main menu, the addition of an intro scene and more work on the wizard and space memories.

  • flesk has been working on the wizard memory (fork)

Day Thirteen

Day Fourteen

Today was a very busy day, as there was a lot of changes.

On the main repo:

  • Jenni applied her music tracks to the clock, doug, and space rooms (857340)

  • Jenni hooked up the dialog, puzzle, and return to hub system, and cleaned up artwork a bit (4b6c57)

On the forums:

  • kednar shared the work that he and flesk had done on his fork of the source code

Day Fifteen

Amnesia Fortnight is over, but the work continues to come in.

On the main repo:

  • flesk updated his pull request of a wizard memory. (#21)

  • Jenni shared a special side project demo that she had compiled of Amnesia Adventure, with a special silly ending (exclusive to this build) to cap off the Amnesia Fortnight.

It was a busy day today, as the space memory and hub received a lot of additions and improvements.

  • kednar implemented the cutscenes in the space memory, but noted issues with the hub (3dadf)

Day Twenty-Nine
