After more than a decade of serving this community well, these forums have finally run their course and it's time to close them down. That doesn't mean we want to close the doors on our community, quite the opposite!
Our discord server grows ever busier by the day, and we encourage all Double Fine fans to meet us over there www.discord.gg/doublefine In a short time these forums will become a read only archive and will remain that way until they become needed again.

Hi there!

A Linux version is coming! Like with Day of the Tentacle Remastered, it's going to be a little while after the Windows version's release.

Sorry, it's not the right time to be talking about dates.

Anxiously waiting also for a Mac/OSX version.

I tried Porting Kit with the Windows GOG release, too many glitches to be playable sadly.

Oh hey, I forgot to share it here, but we went into closed testing last month. To make sure that anybody who already owned the game and saw it pop up in their Steam library didn't get the wrong idea, I made this "coming soon" app similar to the one I did while working on Day of the Tentacle Remastered's port.

I can't give an idea of timeframes at the moment, but I'm working hard and hope to get the game into your hands as soon as it's ready :)

It's out now!

Big thanks to these people. Without their time and effort, the Linux port wouldn't be what it is :)

As a tester on the project, I can tell you that Cheeseness's dedication is really amazing. Huge thanks and respect for your tireless work!

Thanks so much for the Linux version, Cheeseness and Double Fine! :D Those testers seem like nice (and probably handsome) people too. :)

Hello!

Thanks for the Linux release. Just bought the game on GOG

Unfortunately I am running into an issue when launching the game:

Error: MENU_AUDIO_INIT_FAIL
Please check ~/.local/share/doublefine/ft/ftlog
Application will now exit

As it happens there is now log to be found sadly.

This is on Ubuntu 16.04.3

Just in case it will be useful here is a backtrace, though I suppose the error itself is explanatory enough.

Sorry to hear that you're having troubles!

If you check readme.txt, there are instructions on how to launch the game with --log to ensure that the log gets created. I thought I'd set it up to automatically do log output if that kind of error occurs, but perhaps it's not getting far enough for that to happen.

Do you have 32 bit audio drivers installed? The readme also gives a list of recommended packages to install to make sure that the game runs correctly. GOG also have a list of recommended packages on the store page.

Ah that was it, I needed to install the 32bit audio drivers. Should have looked around a bit more. Thanks!
