Point and Click Adventures

33 posts in this topic

Hi Guys and Gals!

After the success of Double Fine's kickstarter campaign, I got so excited about point and click adventure games, that I decided to start a tumblr where I illustrate my favorite characters from the classic adventure games! pointclicking.tumblr.com

Since it was inspired by Tim Schafer's success, I started with Full Throttle's Ben:

And today I added Beneath a Steel Sky:

If any of you like this kind of stuff, make sure to check out the tumblr for new updates every once in a while. :)

Cheers,

Jón

Thanks, you two! I decided to just keep making one a day for the whole week. So, I've got three more. Though, I'll definately slow down next week so I don't burn out on this.. :)

First up is The Dig!

Then Al Lowe's Torin's Passage, weird little game:

And then, the classic, Day of the Tentacle:

Oh Man am I glad I decided to spread my wings out of the DFA Forums to see what other awesomeness I might find.

I'm building my next entry of what I call Nerd Notes on my website/blog and this fits right in. (In a good way)

Love your artwork, Jón! That one pic of Day of the Tentacle was probably my favorite scene of the game!

I also always felt sorry for Brink in The Dig :(

Cutting Brink's hand off must have been the most enjoyable puzzle for me in the entire game. Finally I could do something nasty to this damn prick. ;)

Thanks! And thanks Reid for blogging about it. :)

Sweet pic of Manny and Glottis!

Also, glad to see another fan of Torin's Passage! I only played that once ages ago!

Yikes - nice nice work. You have motivated me to do some DF fan art too.

Thanks!

Acefox - Oh, man. I spent ages playing through that game. Loved every part of it! In retrospect it was very weird and illogical at times, but when I was young it was just awesome!

Thanez - Go ahead! I insist. ;)

kudu - Awesome! Glad to motivate.

Just a quick update! If you haven't seen them yet, there're loads of new pictures up on the tumblr, including a bunch of Monkey Island ones. pointclicking.tumblr.com

And recently I did a commission for Thrillville Quarterly, an e-zine, with all my favorite LucasArts characters joining 2 Headed Baby for a party!

Hey, everyone! A quick update on this ongoing project. I'm in the process of collecting all of the illustrations into a neat little coffee table book. It's still not finished, I still need the last 16 illustrations to reach the 100 I want in the book. But I've started making some copies and I'm super excited about it, and if you are too make sure to Pointclicking Mailing List to be the first to know when it's up for pre-ordering.

But you make a good point...

Annotations would make this book absolutely over the top.
