Writing Update #3: Let's brainstorm Locations together!

There's something eerily intriguing about this abandoned fake Disneyland in China http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/arts-post/post/see-chinas-wonderland-an-abandoned-fake-disneyland-photos/2011/12/13/gIQA5vDAsO_blog.html

Apparently it "was intended to be a huge tourist destination. But according to Reuters, construction was halted in 1998 when farmers and local government sparred over property prices." The farmers have since started to farm the land again, so you get this weird situation of farmers digging wells beside abandoned fake medieval european castles in modern day china... I mean, if you can't do something interesting with THAT...

* Inflatable Castle Village: A whole village made of inflated vinyl. SO BOUNCY. Bounce high enough, you can ride the breeze. Get to the end and you receive The World's Spikiest Object, and you have to get it back to the start without waking up the dreaded blowfish.

* Toy Factory Testing Room: This company makes the most fun, most dangerous toys on earth, and the testing room is not only full of these deadly wonders, but the intern just misplaced all the Proximity Activation Sensors.

* Operating Theater: Under the knife, you have an out-of-body experience, but an out-of-body experience while under crazy hallucinogenic anaesthetic. Your fears are made real, but hyper-real. And then you notice that the operation is not what they said it would be... can you fight your fears in time to wake up?

* The World Wide Whooooah! Falling into the internet, you cling to data as you race through wires and blast through the air, landing briefly in a coffee shop or a study hall or facing the recipient of an embarrassing email, before being whisked away again.

* The Large Hadron Collider: C'mon, SOMETHING crazy must be going on in there!

How about a part that takes place inside Double Fine as they're making DFA. Like Adaptation. I guess Space Quest III might have sort of done that though.

The player gets lost and discovers a village where everyone blatantly lies except for one person. The player doesn't know how to leave the area he/she is in and needs help from the villagers to tell him/her how to leave. Listening to one of the lying villages, though, will lead to death or something else(can't think of anything creative), so it's up to the player to use clues to find out which villager is the one that tells the truth and listen to him/her to escape.

-A dimension where all possible songs exist and float in the air, waiting for a musician evokes them in our plan of existence.

-In the mind of a character of an old portrait. (I always wondered what these characters think as we stare at each other for hours)

-A factory of sand for hourglasses. (do you think it's just normal sand? you fool!)

If you like Ice levels so much (I know I do), maybe put a spin on it? Perhaps some space-age work-related disaster froze an area that isn't usually frozen. Like a church that worships liquid-chocolate, or what was previously a mating orgy of a million bat-like creatures. (???) Maybe there's a city that is underground, heated by geothermal forces, but above ground is a frozen wasteland filled with ravenous furry snow-raptors; and they are terrifying, like everything in "Oddworld" But you have special shoes and can run on ice, but that causes the horrible beasts to stumble and slow down. Passage underground is not free, therefore you must brave the surface in short bursts! *Shudder

- District of the Apes. Like the planet of the apes but they didn't conquer all Earth because they're apes. They only got their own ghetto-like district where they struggle to survive like illegal immigrants cause they can't get a good job and also don't know the language well.

- An antarctic base. There's storm/blizzard outside. It can be really atmospheric.

- A Chinese town of Guilin. In the future. Edit: It's a tourist spot so probably in the future you can meet some space alien tourists there. Alien tourists that buy Chinese hats and pretend that they understand zen buddhism.

- Doug Tennapel's Ghostopolis. I know that's a totally different IP and it won't be made into an adventure game but it would be just awesome if it did. (After few minutes of thinking I recalled that you already made a game about a land of the dead..)

- A Graveyard orbit. I bet you didn't knew about it. Edit: Spacecraft cemetery is also cool.

- A Great Pacific Garbage Patch. The island of plastic trash that probably can be populated sometime. Maybe by some outcasts/misfits or maybe by a new type of animals. Or it can be pirate hub.

* traveling along the Underground Railroad

* in a place where everyone is really lucky, and they're excited by "normal"/"bad" luck, like finding a 3 leaf clover or slipping on a banana peel

* on the paper of a typewriter, trying to read the page as it's written without getting smashed or falling off

* inside of a missile silo/nuclear sub during the cold war

* working at a busy coat check counter or lost and found

* on a pirate ship, as the parrot

* on Easter Island, at some point in the past (read Aku-Aku)

* in the land of Bism as (briefly) described in The Silver Chair

* in an Aztec city, when it was active (optionally with surprisingly civilized people with explanations for their architectural and cultural oddities)

* in a world with movie time, where the more urgent a task is, the more time slows down (e.g. defusing a bomb)

* a "graveyard" where people aren't actually buried; they just have tombstones on file, like a library

I've always had a fascination with deep abysses in the ocean. The lack of light, the weird critters that live in an ecosystem that's based off of bacteria and refuse from the surface instead of sunlight, the caves, the superhot vents, it's pretty cool stuff.

Also, the digestive tract of a giant space beast.
