Stacking and Costume Quest rights sold to Swedish publisher?

Recommended Posts

Yesterday the rest of the IPs from the THQ auction were sold and rumors that Nordic Games Publishing now has rights to Stacking and Costume Quest are floating about. Has anyone heard anything? Gamasutra article

Worst case scenario, that company got the PS3/360 distribution rights. The actual IP rights are safe with Double Fine, so if DF wants to make another Costume Quest or Stacking game, there's nothing stopping them.

Oh hey they've got the Darksiders IP, I've been wondering who picked up that. A good fit for Nordic Games.

But yeah Costume Quest and Stacking are owned by DF, the only rights THQ had was distributing it on PS3 & 360. Something that will become a lot less relevant next year/ "this holiday season".

Hopefully Nordic is better to deal with than THQ. Apparently Double Fine never saw a dime from the copies that were given away on PS+.

Page 3 lays it out, but read on if you're interested in things like the license agreement.

Very interesting stuff louiedog! It seems Double Fine aren't the only ones to get shafted by THQ.
