I see that the Witcher series is on sale on Steam. Anyone have any impressions from the games? I sort of have a backlog now, but I may just grab them anyways, the prices are too low to ignore.

I've only played a bit of The Witcher 2. Basically, it's Game of Thrones the game. Except good.

I haven't played either, but I've heard very good things about them. Just not sure if it's for me.

Steam Daily Deal:

50% off Strike Suit Zero (Windows): 9,49€ / $9.99

The rest of the franchise appears to be 50% off as well.

Steam Daily Deal:

75% off The War Z (Windows): 3,24€ / $3.74

It's not every day you see a game with a Metacritic score of 20. Bundles with the game and gold coins are also on offer but I doubt that's of interest to anyone.

I just came over indiebundle.org, which does regular sales similar to indiegamestand.com. They have several sales going on at the moment, but I'll just list the one that ends in a few hours for now, since I'm on my phone.

Ultimate Bug Out Bundle (link):

Pay $5 for:

* The Ballads of Reemus: When the Bed Bites (Windows) (Desura)

* Band of Bugs (Windows) (Desura)

* Along Came a Spider (Windows) (Desura)

Pay an additional $2 and get:

* Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon + DLC

The first one in the pack probably doesn't need any introduction. The flash version is available for free and is a puzzle adventure akin to Samorost. I don't know anything about the second game, but the last one in the base pack looks pretty interesting. It's a puzzle platformer of sorts where you control a spider and have to catch flies and avoid all sorts of dangers, including humans.

You've probably heard of this one, since it's gotten a lot of positive attention and won several awards:

Steam Daily Deal:

50% off Antichamber (Windows): 9,49€ / $9.99

I'm interested in it, but I think I can wait until it's 75% off or in a bundle.

The reason why I came over IndieBundle.org is that one of the bundles there contains a game which was just unlocked in the previously mentioned The Archlight Bundle: Great Permutator.

Here's the rest of the current IndieBundle.org bundles:

Krazy Kinetic Bundle (link):

pay $5 and get:

* Star Drone (Windows) (Desura)

* Rythm Destruction (Windows) (Desura/Greenlight)

* Plazma Being (Windows) (Desura/Greenlight)

pay $7 and get:

* Really Big Sky (Windows) (Steam)

Perilous Puzzle Bundle (link):

pay $5 and get:

* Hairy Tales (Windows/Mac/Linux) (Desura/Greenlight)

* Spoids (Windows) (Desura/Greenlight)

* Great Permutator (Windows) (Desura/Greenlight)

pay $7 and get:

* Wyv and Keep: The Temple of the Lost Idol (Windows/Linux) (Desura/Greenlight)

Deadly Dungeons Bundle (link):

pay $5 and get:

* Knytt Underground (Windows/Mac) (Desura/Greenlight)

* Dwarf Quest (Windows/Mac) (Desura/Greenlight)

* Dungeon Fray (Windows/Linux) (Desura)

pay $7 and get:

* Dary's Legend (Windows/Mac) (Desura/Greenlight)

* MiniFlake (Windows) (Desura)

Not really the big hitters, but Really Big Sky, Wyv and Keep and Knytt Underground are generally considered good. And most of these are on Greenlight, but I doubt too many of them will show up on Steam in the near future. Maybe I should just skip these bundles unless there's something really good in any of them. And do you guys use Desura? I have a few games there, but most of the time I'm just on Steam.

Oh, and I forgot. Those games listed as "Greenlight" will give out Steam keys for anyone who buys through IndieBundle.org if greenlit.

Yea, I broke down and bought Witcher 2 and Strike Suit Zero from Steam.

Ugh, I would have considered that bundle with Earth Defense Force but it looks like it has been retired already. Too bad.

I've been looking at AntiChamber as well, but I think I'll wait on that one.

Yeah, I figure there's a good chance of it turning up in a future bundle or the summer sale.

Steam Daily Deal:

75/66% off Forge (Windows): 4,74€ / $6.80

It's one of those rare cases of us Europeans getting a better deal.

I forgot about the week long deals again...

Steam Week Long Deals:

* 75% off Obulis (Windows): 1,12€ / $1.24

* 50% off Alien Breed: Impact (Windows): 4,49€ / $4.99

* 50% off Quantum Conundrum (Windows): 4,49€ / $4.49

* 50% off Anodyne (Windows/Mac/Linux): 3,99€ / $4.99

* 75% off A.R.E.S.: Extinction Agenda (Windows): 2,49€ / $2.49

I own both Quantum Conundrum and Anodyne, but haven't played either yet. Both are supposed to be really good. The offer for Quantum Conundrum applies to the season pass and the soundtrack as well. I'm thinking of picking up Obulis, since it looks like a neat little physics puzzle game.

IndieGameStand.com:

* Pay what you want for Vox (Windows) (DRM-free/Desura).

* Beat the Average for Vox Screenshot Pack and Vox Soundtrack.

Did anyone say Minecraft? No? Well, it's an adventure/RPG game of sorts with voxel graphics. Frankly I think it looks pretty uninteresting and a screenshot pack hardly sounds like much of an incentive to beat the average.

ARES is a pretty good game, it feels like an old 2D PS2 shooter. It also feels like it takes a lot of inspiration from the Megaman X games.

They also started their summer sale a few hours ago, but I haven't had time to write up a post about it yet. Some good titles like Planescape Torment, various RPGs and Alan Wake. Worth looking into.

Today's bundles in the GOG.com summer sale:

Definitive Dungeons and Dragons:

Get 50% off select titles:

* Baldur's Gate 2 Complete (Windows): $4.99

* Baldur's Gate: The Original Saga (Windows): $4.99

* Temple of Elemental Evil, The (Windows): $2.99

* Icewind Dale 2 Complete (Windows): $4.99

* Icewind Dale Complete (Windows): $4.99

* Neverwinter Nights 2: Complete (Windows): $9.99

* Neverwinter Nights: Diamond Edition (Windows): $4.99

* Planescape: Torment (Windows): $4.99

* Dungeons & Dragons: Dragonshard (Windows): $4.99

* Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone (Windows): $4.99

Or buy them all for 80% off and pay $21.10 for the lot.

Wide A.Wake Bundle:

* Alan Wake (Windows): $2.99

* Alan Wake's American Nightmare (Windows): $1.49

In addition to that there are some 50% deals on the front page. I'm going to check if that's a complete list or just a selection.

And now for the Steam sales:

Steam Daily Deal:

33% off Mars: War Logs (Windows): 13,39€ / $13.39

Midweek Madness:

* 50% off Dawn of Fantasy: Kingdom Wars (Windows): 9,49€ / $9.99

* 75% off Mark of the Ninja (Windows): 3,75€ / $3.75

If you don't already own Mark of the Ninja, buy it already! It's really a ton of fun and it's even SurplusGamer and Anemone approved.

Fuck, there's also two new bundles up:

The Chosen 2 Bundle (link):

* Really Big Sky (Windows) (Steam/Desura)

* Eufloria (Windows) (Steam/Desura)

* Runespell: Overture (Windows/Mac) (Steam/Desura)

* Cthulhu Saves the World (Windows) (Steam/Desura)

* Breath of Death VII (Windows) (Steam/Desura)

I've only played Eufloria of those. It's entertaining in small chunks, but both the Android and PC version had clunky controls and were full of bugs when I played them after I got them through the Humble Android Bundle. I think Cthulu Saves the World was free with On The Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3 a while back, so you might already have it without realizing.

The Humble Bundle with Android 6 (link):

Pay what you want for:

* Aquaria (Windows/Mac/Linux/Android)

* Fractal (Windows/Mac/Linux/Android)

* Organ Trail: Director’s Cut (Windows/Mac/Linux/Android)

* Stealth Bastard Deluxe (Windows/Mac/Linux/Android)

* Pulse (Android)

Beat the average for:

Frozen Synapse (Windows/Mac/Linux/Android (recommended for tablets))

Broken Sword: Director’s Cut (Windows/Mac/Linux/Android)

Soundtracks are included for all games.

I think several of these games have been included in previous Humble Bundles, but I don't remember which. I know at least Frozen Synapse had its own bundle and Aquaria was in one of the first bundles. I've had Stealth Bastard on my wishlist for a while, so I know I'll be getting this bundle for that one at least.

In addition to that there are some 50% deals on the front page. I'm going to check if that's a complete list or just a selection.

According to a forum post on GOG.com everything at GOG.com is 50% off, except these games:

* Anvil of Dawn

* Arx Fatalis

* Chaos Overlords

* Deathtrap Dungeon

* Don't Starve

* Expeditions: Conquistador

* Fez

* Inherit the Earth

* Jade Empire: Special Edition

* La Mulana

* Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude: Uncut and Uncensored!

* Mutant Mudds

* Pandemonium 2

* Project Eden

* Race Driver: Grid

* Raiden Legacy

* Rayman Origins

* Reus

* Slender: The Arrival

* Subwar 2050 Complete

* Wizardry 6+7

* Wizardry 8

And of course the daily deals, which are even cheaper.

I forgot I even had a GOG account. I grabbed the free copy of Torchlight from them. I doubt I will ever play it, but maybe someday I'll check it out. I see they have the Witcher 2 on sale now too. I just grabbed it from Steam, I sort of feel like I should have purchased it from them to support them more. Ah well. Someone was saying I can activate my Steam copy on GOG too, I may end up doing that.

Yeah, I'm also more likely to buy stuff from Steam if a game is available there too. Steam is just so extremely convenient.

GOG.com summer sale:

* 33% off Don't Starve (Windows/Mac): $9.99

* 70% off The Witcher 2 (Windows/Mac): $5.99

* 66% off Signal Ops (Windows): $4.99

* 50% off Slender: The Arrival (Windows): $4.99

* 75% off Miasmata (Windows): $3.74

* 75% off Strike Suit Zero (Windows): $4.99

I got Don't Starve on Steam from a friend. It's a neat concept, but there wasn't really much to do when I played it, so I got a bit bored. I think there's a lot more content now though. Didn't someone talk a bit about an adventure mode or something here in off topic a while back?

Ugh, forgot about the Steam sale.

Steam Daily Deal:

50% off The Secret World (Windows): 14,99€ / $14.99

It's a Norwegian game, so I should probably be more invested in this, but I don't really care about it. The reviews are generally positive though, so it's worth checking out if you're into mmo's.

There's also a couple of new bundles:

GoreFest Bundle (link):

Pay a dollar and get Steam keys for:

* Alien Shooter (Windows)

* Alien Shooter 2: Reloaded (Windows)

* Alien Shooter 2: Conscription (Windows)

Build a Bundle 6 (link):

Pay at least $1.50 and get:

* Spectraball (Windows/Mac/Linux) (DRM-free/Steam)

* Smash Cat (Windows) (DRM-free/Desura)

* Chernobyl Commando (Windows) (DRM-free/Desura)

* Space Ark (Windows) (Steam)

* Aeon Command (Windows/Mac/Linux) (DRM-free/Desura)

* Numen: Contest of Heroes (Windows) (Steam)

* Freedom Fall (Windows/Mac) (DRM-free/Desura)

* Off-Road Drive (Windows) (Steam)

* Dynamite Jack (Windows/Mac/Linux) (DRM-free/Steam)

There's also a bonus digital album called The Electric Hand.

As always with Groupees bundles this bundle unlocks new stuff depending on how many bundles are sold. First game up is Crazy Fairies for Windows, Mac, iOS and Android. The game is free to play, but what's being unlocked is in-game content worth $10. And by worth $10 I assume they actually mean what they're selling it for, as in-game content is usually ridiculously overpriced in games like this.

Steam Daily Deal:

75% off Mafia II (Windows): 7, 50€ / $7.50

All DLC and a digital deluxe pack which includes soundtrack, art book, two new cars and a new map are also on offer.

There's also a Paradox Interactive weekend in place of the usual weekend deals. Today's offer is on the Cities in Motion series.

Correction: The Paradox Interactive weekend deals are not in place of but in addition to the usual weekend deals.

Steam Weekend Deals:

* 50% off Evoland (Windows/Mac): 4,99€ / $4.99

* 50% off Dead Island Riptide (Windows): 19,99€ / $19.99

* 75% off Dead Island: Game of the Year Edition (Windows): 4,99€ / $4.99

* 50% off Dead Island: Riptide - Fashion Victim (Windows): 0,99€ / $0.99

* 50% off Dead Island: Riptide - Survivor Pack (Windows): 2,49€ / $2.49

Evoland is sort of a tribute to the history of action adventures, and looks very interesting. I've had it on my wishlist for a while, so I'll definitely pick it up. I'm not sure what kind of games those others are.

Feel free to break my post combo here if you want.

Dead Island isn't even worth $5, one of the most generic, boring, and broken games I have ever been convinced into buying by my friends.

I'll stay well clear of it then. It doesn't look like a kind of game that would appeal much to me anyway.

There's no end to the deals today it seems. I totally forgot about the new Humble Weekly Sale coming up. The new deal is Rochard and it includes the soundtrack, a digital art book and Rochard: Hard Times (DLC).

I've heard good things about the game, and the trailer definitely looks interesting. I own the game from the Humble Indie Bundle 6, but haven't gotten around to playing it yet. I might pick this one up for the DLC.

Hadn't heard of that thing, so I had to google it. Yeah, that was pretty tasteless.

@Leroy: Cool that you're joining in with a console sale. I only own Nintendo consoles and I don't think they do sales except Nintendo Club offers, which I can't use anyway, so I won't be doing those.

That's neat. I probably won't be getting a Wii U anytime soon, but hopefully that's a trend they'll keep up. Virtual console and indie eShop games are usually very reasonably priced, but I think regular games are pretty much ridiculously overpriced, even years after the release date.

Well I wasn't really out looking for any sales on consoles. I just happened upon that one and thought it might be useful to some people here. Especially since it has The Cave in it.
