Video Game Deals

Recommended Posts

Sorry, got distracted by Angry Joe's Top 10 Worst Games of 2013.

Steam

Here's your Week-Long Deals. Nothing special, unlesss you put the word special in inverted commas, in which case you're probably talking about Bad Rats, which is shockingly appalling and deserves every bit of vile, hate-filled garbage you can throw at it.

GamersGate

Three deals for now.

- Up to 75% off Awesomenauts & DLC

- 75% off the Orcs Must Die! series

- 75% off the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series

Daily Royale

Today's Deal is 70% off Wanderlust: Rebirth.

Steam

Today's Two-Day Deal is 63% (?) off Star Wars: Dark Forces 3: Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast: Quest for a Longer Title.

Midweek Madness deals:

- 75% off the Darksiders franchise (the Zelda rip-off with the four Horsemen, not the beat-em-up with scantily clad demon things)

- 75% off Hotline: Miami

Bundle Stars

This one's insane. The Brutal Bundle includes the following 10 games for a mere £3.64 (or equivalent):

- Tropico 4: Steam Special Edition

- Stealth Bastard Deluxe!

- Port Royale 3

- Dungeonbowl

- King's Bounty: Legions - True Tactician Ultimate Pack

- Day One: Garry's Incident (A HAHAHAHAHAHA)

- Iron Sky Invasion

- Steel Storm Complete Edition

- Naval Warfare

- Earth 2150 Trilogy

All on Steam.

Gamefly

Save up to 80% on 'Indie Games'.

Because, y'know, Serious Sam is TOTALLY an indie game.

I know. Seriously tempted to buy the bundle just to see how BAD Garry's Incident is.

IndieGameStand

Latest game from these guys is Inescapable a Metroidvania styl- oh, that's all you need to know? OK then :)

Beat the average (currently $1.37) to get some wallpapers. Yay.

Steam

Today's Two-Day Deal is 75% off The Darkness II. Again. Yawn.

Weekend Deals:

- 66% off Company of Heroes 2

- 50% off Saints Row IV and DLC

Humble Bundle

The latest bundle from these guys is the Bohemia Interactive Bundle.

$1+ Tier:

Alpha Prime

ARMA: Gold Edition

ARMA Tactics

ARMA II

Take On Helicopters

UFO: Afterlight

$6+ Tier:

ARMA II: DayZ Mod (which is free anyway, so no idea why they've put it here - unless it's for publicity's sake, which would be really cheap of them)

ARMA II: Operation Arrowhead

Carrier Command: Gaea Mission

All Win/Steam except ARMA Tactics, which is Win/Mac/Linux-Steam.

"*Note: This mod is available for free elsewhere, but has been included in this bundle collection too."

They know a lot of people want to buy ARMA just to play DayZ, so they included a download for somebody who wouldn't want to find it and figure out how to get it or whatever. The mod is probably more popular than the game and the main reason someone might buy it anyway, so it seems fair to me.

See, this is why I questioned them adding the mod to the bundle. How's it work, exactly?

GOG

Time for a Winter Quest Fest! A whole bunch of Activision classics for up to 60% off. Take a look - lots of stuff to be had.

I have no idea. 0 interest in this bundle.

Unfortunately, neither do I.

Would anyone who bought it care to enlighten us?

The link in the bundle just automatically adds the mod to your account. It's basically just a shortcut to activate the mod instead of navigating through Steam to find it, and it's click to activate just like the other Humble Steam keys are.

That's it.

Wow. That's... rather pointless.

Steam

Today's Two Day Deal is 66% off the now subscription-free The Secret World

Bundle Stars

These guys normally do bundles, but they also do games on their own, and they've got a sale on those over here which, despite their claims, is not exactly fantastic.

Indie Gala

Hey, did I ever tell you guys about the Indie Gala January Bundle? I don't think I did.

Oh well, let me make it up to you now.

Here's the Indie Gala January Bundle! Now featuring a game you might actually be interested in! WOO!

$1+ Tier

- Millennium: A New Hope

- Laxius Force

- Two Brothers

$5.19+ Tier

- Ballpoint Universe Infinite

- Tales of Maj'Eyal

- Ravensword:Shadowlands

- Gravity Badgers

- Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut

Deadly Premonition's the recently unlocked game that makes the whole damn bundle worthwhile. Go buy it - it's brilliantly weird.

Daily Royale

These guys have been skimping!

The latest deal from them is 60% off StarDrive.

The moral of the story - don't call yourself DAILY if you're not gonna have a new deal every (week)day!

Oh man, $1 for Two Brothers doesn't sound bad at all.

Now I just need to decide if Ballpoint Universe and Deadly Premonition(awful port and all) are worth the extra $4 and change.

Do what I did and wait for the locked games to be revealed.

Also, there's a fan-made patch for DP that fixes a few things. You'll want DPfix.

Two deals for now.

- Up to 75% off Sniper Elite titles

Hey, snap. Here's hoping the other games are as awesomely insane.

Steam

Today's Two-Day Deal is 75% off Spec Ops: The Line

You should all totally own this game. Like, for reals. Go buy it if you don't already have it.

IndieGameStand

The latest deal from these guys is Three Dead Zed: Enhanced Edition, a Lost-Vikings style platformer... only with Zombies.

Beat the average (currently $1.55) to unlock a bonus game, Astro Drop.

Steam

Today's Two-Day Deal is 80% off Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP. You no officially have no excuse not to own this.

The Week-Long Deals are, once again, pretty meh. Honestly, if they're not gonna try, why do they even bother?

Flying Bundle

Time for the unimaginatively named Flying Bundle 5. Oh well, at least it's easy to keep track of them, I suppose.

$3 or more gets you:

- Gish (Steam)

- POP: Methodology Experiment One (Desura + Greenlight)

- Gravity Badgers (Steam + Desura)

- Booster Trooper (Steam)

- CreaVures (Steam)

- Hamlet (Steam)

- BasketBelle (Desura + Greenlight)

...and a Mystery Game!

Interesting collection there. I keep seeing Gravity Badgers popping up lately. Wonder why.

Bundle Stars

Meanwhile, these guys have just launched the Kingdoms Bundle. £2.19/$2.99 gets you:

- Europa Universalis III Complete

- Magicka

- Europa Universalis: Rome - Gold Edition

- Hearts of Iron III

- Swords of the Stars Complete Collection

- The Kings' Crusade

...seriously, why do they never put these in alphabetical order? Bugs the HELL out of me.

Indie Gala

Remember Indie Gala January had four mystery games, one of which was Deadly Premonition?

Well, turns out the second one is Visceral Clean-Up Detail: Santa's Rampage.

...which is AWESOME.

Also, one of the original games was Gravity Badgers, which explains why I noticed it earlier. Although wasn't it on Daily Royale as well? Huh. Still waiting for those guys to live up to their name...

Yup, I picked it up. Looks really good as well. I'd be a little surprised if it doesn't end up getting greenlit on Steam by the end of Q1.

IndieGameStand

The latest deal from these guys is Three Dead Zed: Enhanced Edition, a Lost-Vikings style platformer... only with Zombies.

I got this in the Capsule Computers Groupees bundle (which also included AstroDrop). I'll admit I haven't played it yet, but I think it looks pretty interesting and it was the main reason why I got the bundle.

This might be the first time in a while it's worth taking a chance on the Make it a Bundle deal for $10 to get Inescapable, Three Dead Zed and whatever the next deal is.

Steam

Today's Two-Day Deal is 90% off La Mulana. NO EXCUSES.

Midweek Madness Deals:

- 75% off Dawn of Fantasy: Kingdom Wars (which just has the most generic name ever)

- 80% off the Hitman franchise (excluding Contracts, which isn't on Steam for some reason)

Daily Royale

Today's Deal is 70% off Face Noir, a noir-themed adventure game.

Gamefly

Get up to 75% off various Sqeenix games.

As per usual, these games have all been cheaper before (except FFVIII), so don't bother.

Humble Bundle

The latest bundle from these guys is an... Audio Book bundle?

...well THAT'S not video game related. Never mind!

Books are for nerds, am I right?

Also surprised you didn't make a point of Jack Keane 2 being in the Steam weekly deals, but then it is a bit cheaper (or a lot for non-EU Europeans) in the IndieGala store.

That's because I didn't see it in the list on Monday, so either I missed it or it was added at a later date.

Probably the former, knowing me.

But yeah, go get Jack Keane 2.

On a Pale Horse is one of my favorite pieces of fantasy fiction. Basically, imagine the Tim Allen movie The Santa Clause, except this one is about the Grim Reaper rather than Santa and there's 100% less Tim Allen.

So, yes, for nerds.
